I consider that £8 is a rip-off. I was upset at the comment made by Bird in the Non-League Paper,

 

"We are working resolutely towards that end (Resolution of the dispute with Boreham Wood) - and we urge as many fans as possible to turn up today to give us the lift the club needs"

 

It seemed to me that at an £8 price I thought that they wanted as many fans as possible to turn up so that they can continue to fleece the club.

 

I turned up in order to see a team that I still support and want to win, get some way to pulling themselves out of the mire but instead I was presented with arrogance from you.

 

"This is the FA cup!" In other words it's not our fault guv its the FA making us do this.

 

When I said that I had paid only £5 the day before what response was there.

 

"We are not Enfield Town!"

 

Nowhere in those two remarks was the recognition that as fans we are being ripped off. If there had been that recognition I might have paid the £8 as it is I didn't have to as I pointed out to you. This was not a qualifying round but a preliminary round and I still have not got a response to my question, When was the last time EFC had to play in a preliminary round of the FA cup. I stick to my thought of the early 60's. Probably '61 but may be '62.

 

I carry a ladder around with me in the boot of my car as I use it in my work. It was easy enough for me to offer a £5 to the allotment holder to use the fence.

 

As far as the price for ETFC are concerned I contribute, along with many other supporters, more than the £4 or £5 entrance money to the home game. I also used to do the same with EFC I have at least 4 scarfs in the house and countless hats with EFC logo on. If the weather was cold I would go and buy another. A fan will contribute to the club he or she supports but wants something back from the club rather than being ripped off. Big Tone and Bird have not learnt that simple fact.

Will the new food bar inside the clubhouse be open again, or was that just a one-off instance due to it being a big match? A lot of my big match mates said that the chips and burgers were impressive. Still doesn't top a block of bread pud though. Try both!
