St. Albans City Crisis

Press Release
St. Albans City Football Club is currently facing a winding up order. The clubs majority shareholder and chairman has resigned his position and leaves the saints with a stack of debts.

The Club has another meeting at the High Court on February 20th and the revenue generated by the club over the next few weeks will be essential to the future of the club.

With this in mind some supporters have looked at the possibly of running a fan's day during the home game with Billericay on Saturday February 2nd 2002. The object of the day is that fans from other clubs non-league and league attend the game in their colours, boost the attendance and show solidarity with the supporters of St. Albans City during this perilous time.

This type of day has already been a success for some league clubs such as Brighton and Wimbledon and we hope to transfer this success to this old non-league club.

We ask that you help by publicise this event by however means possible. In your matchday program, on websites or by word of mouth especially if your team is away on this date.
Information

Any further information can be received by e-mailing cityfanday@yahoo.co.uk
If any canvey supporters can turn up and help this'll be great and any form of endorsement would be greatly appreciated as well

Especially as we lay down and died so easily for you in the FA trophy.

All the best for the rest of the season, lets hope we are all still here!!!

Now what I meant to put in the last message:
Fourth Round Trophy day, could be tricky.

If we're both out of the Trophy then there's a rather important fixture at Gravesend that day.
So I suspect it's apologies for absence from most Canvey fans.
