Aztecs no longer, now Orlando something or another.

As football supporters, who invest a lot of time and, with gate entrance/season tickets, finance into your local club, you must surely feel sympathy with the local supporters of the Austin Aztecs (Austin Texas) who having supported their club through the good day's and the bad over the last 3 years since, Phil Rawlins(Stoke director based in Austin) formed the club. Phil appointed ex Stoke and Everton Player/manager Adrian Heath as Head coach.

Together with the support of the local soccer fans, they took the new franchise forward to a position where they finished 2nd in their section of the USL. The area covered by this league takes in teams as diverse as Vancouver whitecaps(west Canada), Miami (Florida) and Puerto Rica in the southern caribbean.

To progress further and to meet the Clubs ambition of entering into MLS, Aztecs tried to involve major Business in the area, unfortunately, due to the recession, the interest was not great. This left the Aztecs board with no options. They either stayed as they were and stagnated or they accepted a bid from another group of British business men, allowing them to move the club away from Austin, to relocate the franchise in Orlando(Florida). Unfortunately for the growing Austin soccer fan base the last option was taken. They, the fans have been left high and dry with no major soccer to support for hundreds of miles.

The Club will move from a stadium shared, with the local American football team to an all purpose soccer stadium in Orlando. No consolation to the fans who have put their heart and sole into the club. Who have already purchased their season tickets for next season( all monies are being refunded).

As supporters we complain at times but, we don't have this scale of a problem.
