A MEMORIAL match for non-league football stalwart, Nobby Johnson, will be held at Great Wakering Rovers’ Burroughs Park ground on Thursday, October 28.

 

The match will kick-off at 7.45pm and will be between Rovers and Southend Manor — the two teams which Southend-born Nobby served so diligently for more than 40 years until his sudden and untimely death in early August, aged 64.

 

Hundreds of spectators, including players, managers, club officials, members of the press and fans are expected to turn-out for the match in honour of a man who was very fondly thought of by so many in the local football community.

 

Tickets will cost £5 for adults, and £2.50 for concessions and children, with all proceeds being donated to Nobby’s memorial.
