Paul the Octopus, who won global fame during the World Cup in South Africa by correctly predicting the results of numerous matches, has sadly passed away, seemingly of natural causes. RIP.

I see that Paul the Octopus's successor made his bow recently, the five month old, coincidentally also called Paul, took the place of the original Paul at the Sea Life Aquarium in Oberhausen, Germany, following two months spent in quarantine, however his tight lipped keepers didn't promise any football insight in the future. Where the original Paul was hatched from an egg at the Sea Life Centre in Weymouth in 2008, before being transported to Germany, the new Paul hails from near Montpellier in France.
