Blues 3 - 2 Cray Wanderers

Recommended Posts

I'm glad I braved the wet weather and a kickoff delay - both teams served up a terrific game although understandably the defences made a few errors in the skiddy conditions.

The pace of the game right through was amazing and you had to admire Cray for their bright passing game. Even a few dodgy decisions by the officials didn't dampen things too much. We got off to a great start with a tap in by Bertie after the goalie dropped the ball. We pressed very well throughout the game and there were some good performances. The third goal made things a bit safer after we looked like throwing it away.

The 442 formation looked much more balanced and Junior Dadson was very impressive on the wing with a great goal. Anthony Robinson held the ball up well and looked very strong. But man of the match was definitely Bertie Brayley who linked really well up front , made some superb passes and didn't stop running..

Looking forward to Saturday if we can sustain this form because it was a good 3 points last night against a good side (even though they did seem to get injured easily!!)

To add to the point about Bertie. He was there to tap in the first, send a great defence splitting pass to Dadson for the second, and put a free kick on the head of Ngakam for the third. I also think it was his corner that Wild headed onto the bar. I hope he stays for a few weeks to lead our improvement. He deserves a sponsor!

A great performance from Albert who thoroughly deserved his 'Man of the Match' tag. Lets hope he continues this form as he looks like he could be that missing link we've been looking for.

Special mention must also also go to Sean Bonnet-Thompson and Anthony Robinson who get better every time I see them.

Agreed. Bonnett-Thompson and Robinson were impressive again in what was an excellent team effort. Junior Luke had his best game of the season 'propa' and hopefully he'll soon recapture his pre-season form. Lets now hope for a settling down period and progress in the Trophy Saturday.

It was an enjoyable game to watch. I thought both teams played some decent stuff especially considering the poor weather conditions - Hopefully the weather plus people being away for half term was the principal reason for such a disappointing gate.

Cray played some very nice football, quick and incisive passing but they looked massively vulnerable at set pieces and I felt we maybe could have exploited that more than we did. Brayley played a part in all the goals so well done to him. I agree with Ryan about Junior Luke. I thought he worked very hard last night especially when having to help out when Crowther was put at right back.

Great effort from both teams I thought. The only downer on the evening was a couple of jokers who appeared to be Cray Officials debasing the good name of "Blazerdom"

Play-off position - we're having a laugh!

Well done lads! Come on you Blues!!

Good entertainment last night; nerve jangling at times but all in all a lot more like the sort of performance we look for from a 'ricay side.

Credit to Cray who just kept on coming. I got the impression they're a decent team. Hopefully that makes the result even more valuable.

Apart from scoring our first, BB was a major influence throughout the game and deserves the praise in previous posts.

What a cracking second goal including Berties through-ball! And the third was the result of another great looping ball in from him.

Keep it up Bertie, and you'll have even the most sceptical convinced.

Thought the ref did OK in 1st half but seemed to go "Card Happy" against us in the 2nd. Wonder if someone had "had a word" at half-time after Crays two early substitutions?

Positive frame of mind for the Trophy on Saturday now.

The garden is starting to look a bit Rosier.

I agree with the above. The most entertaining game at NL I've seen for some time. I think the conditions played a part in both sides first goals.

The work rate of the front two was especially impressive.

Cray played some great stuff at times and if they tighten up at the back will be there or thereabouts at the end.

Hopefully this will be the shape of things to come and crowds will improve on last nights figure.

COYB!
