Apparently welford out for JUST two weeks.

That's a VERY optimistic prognosis. Likely to be significantly longer.

Apparently Welford out for JUST two weeks.

On what basis is that statement Geoff?? When he walked past us he told us that his scan was on Thursday, so surely the extent of his injury won't be be known until then.

As he walked back past us later, someone remarked to him (after our lack of success in attack) that he 'is only allowed to take two weeks off for this injury'... perhaps that remark was misinterpreted.

Thought that Andy White did reasonably well, seeing as he'd only played with the team in the pre-match kick around and was left to run alone up front. He had a couple of attempts on goal, but was caught as being offside a lot by the lino in the first half (apparently Wellsie said they were,in the main, correct decisions) but were marginal if correct. His sending off was for two yellows, the first was a bit picky by the Ref (who had let off worse for both sides in the first half) but there was no doubt about the second as he walked as soon as the defender went down (though the defender did 'milk it'). 0-0 was a fair reflection of the game, even when we were down to 10 and Concord were pushing for goal 0-0 was always the most likely result.

Apparently welford out for JUST two weeks.

I am afraid when players say how long they will be out my general rule of thumb is double the time they say and and another 50% just to be sure.

Therefore 2 weeks + 2 weeks + 2 weeks = 6 weeks (sorry Shaun)

This magic formula generally works with the exception of Dan Young who always said it was 2 weeks enen 2 months later.

Dire game, right result. Terrible officiating. Certainly a sense of deja vu from the 'Ricay game! Worrying how toothless we look going forward without Welford. The problem has to be addressed. Good to see us keeping clean sheets, but no matter what you say, we'll never climb the table unless we score goals as well. Re: White, first one was never a booking. However, knowing that he was on a yellow, the second challenge was just stupid. There was no need to make it.

We definitely need to be more street-wise though. Two games in a row now, players 'acting up' and writhing around on the floor has no doubt led to two sendings off for us. Five minutes later and, miraculously, they've recovered. I hate to see it, and it's not pretty, but seeing as other teams are going to do it against us anyway, we might as well get in there first.

On the plus side, first trip to Concord's ground: free programme with entry, good cheap food, £2.40 a pint, cover at both ends - all in all, not a bad little ground.
