Folkestone Invicta Away Tuesday 9th November

Hope it's on. It's the only RPL ground (apart from Croydon) that I haven't visited in the last few years.

Just been on the Folkestone forum,one of their posters says it is raining so hard it's almost a homelands situation for tomorrow.not sure what that means but I would think it's in reference to either a cancelled game or one played on a quagmire of a pitch

 

 

Hi, Invicta oop north here. "Homelands" refers to our now departed neighbours Ashford Town (as in the Kent Ashford), who's ground is/was called Homelands. Their pitch was always a quagmire, despite having seemingly replaced it every other season. I think last season they had about 10 postponements.

 

We have, in the past, had a few drainage problems, but there was a lot of work closed season to rectify it - though not in an Ashford stylee I hope. It's not had a real test yet!

 

I know it's a good 150 mile round trip for you, but our place is well worth it. It's a "proper" football ground if you know what I mean. If the game gets dull you can always watch the channel tunnel traffic (& if it wasn't dark the great view of the Downs). Visitors always welcome, particularly at Stripes, our bar.

 

 

For those who can't make it, our Forum, accessable without any registration from out main website, always has match updates. It's just like being there

Looking good then,just spoke to my dad who is working in hythe,he says it is quite pleasant down there,just the odd bit of drizzle,rain is forecast but it is only for the odd light shower
