Hythe break our record

They became the first Kent League team to reach the FA Cup 1st Round in 53 years today. The last team to do it was...us. We lost 2-3 at home to Crystal Palace in 57/58.

Yes but the Kent League of 1957/8 was equivalent to today's Conference South in hierarchical terms. Excellent achievement by Hythe though.

Probably a better achievement for Hythe now, than it was for Margate back then. I think dad might have played in the Palace game.

Hythe away to Hereford.

Dartford, if they beat Leiston in a replay, at home to Port Vale.

If Dover beat Farnborough in their replay they face a stack of their old staff at Gillingham.

All of a sudden, the FA Trophy has become a vastly more important cup than the FA Cup.

Massive game next week-need the prize money to fund a couple of loan players for a month by the sounds of the injuries and suspensions
