RESULTS 23RD OCTOBER 2010

Recommended Posts

Stansted 0 Eton Manor 0

Hullbridge-Witham 1-1

Mike Shelley 12m,Whithnell 45m penalty.

Really disappointed about not getting the 3 points we deserved.Their keeper kept them in the game on the 2nd half with 2 great saves on Stanley and Paterson.Frankly Witham were one of the worst teams we played. It was all route one and I had a neck ache at the end of it.I can't believe how a team can play like that.If Brian Clough was alive he would certainly had a go at them. There was no inventive, pattern of play, simply kick and rush and hope for the best.Unbelievable what I witnessed from a team hoping to win this League.

Draw probably the right result however, we scored in the 88th minute and the referee disallowed it for a push, no one else including the linesman who was level with play saw it, the Eton Manor management team were all laughing and even bought us a drink after.

Just read Witham report on their game with Hullbridge, somewhat different from Coachies must of been 2 games going on down there.lol

A bill for shower repair will be sent to the "Volley ball team of the year".Talk about sour grapes!lol

And next time follow the new guidelines and don't step out of your technical area!Oh my ......that hurts!Straight in the nuts!grin.gif Never Been they were abysmal and I'm still gutted we haven't beaten them.Their supporters(4) were out sung from a strong local crowd and were quiet all game.Honestly I can't believe how poor was their way of playing....frown.gif

I respect your advice that Ollie Baker scored the second goal and hope to be able to change this in Centre Spot though not in the media but this is not the scorer given to me by the home side and if clubs had a better contact with each other at the end of the match re scorers then this problem would be alleviated. Please help the poor old League Results co-ordinator !

Quite understand, just thought I'd point it out because Luke Moore was substituted a good 10 minutes before the goal went in! :)

Cries of "Come on Witham,Come on Witham rang around Lower Road, the first sign that the team is no longer scoring high in entertainment....grin.gif

As this happens quite a bit, wonder if a rule should be in place that "Home clubs" speak to an "away official" before phoning the league. Just a suggestion. I understand home officials dont know the away players, but could solve this.

Another display of appalling refereeing with every decision going against us. We took the lead and looked good for it. A long punt from their goalkeeper just before half time found their forward who brought it down and scored a good goal. I think it was a bad time to concede as Bowers were a lot better in the second half. A defensive error cost us another goal and missed chances at the other end cost us also. On another day we would have won comfortably. We don't score enough goals.

Again, you see them much more than me - but I don't understand why Joe Turner's not getting in the side. Last season when it really clicked he looked like the difference (between a solid but unspectacular first half of the season and a very good second half). He's got such good movement and makes clever runs and gets into goalscoring positions. I've not seen you for a few weeks, but I'm planning to come to the Mauritius game next week.
