Billericay 0 Carshalton 1

What have we got to do to win a game (or even draw one)!!! Ask the FA to raise the hight of the goals? Did anyone come away from the game thinking we was robbed? Fair play to Carshalton, I don't think anyone can argue their goal but I think, we were by far the better team this afternoon. Okay there were mistakes and of course supporters can point all of them out but Carshalton made mistakes as well. I think if a bit of frastration is starting to creep into New Lodge, I wouldn't blame anyone.

Okay lets look at the players. For me the man of the match goes to Gary Ansell for his tireless running and causing the Carshalton defence problems. Danny Hockton looks a bit off the pace at the mo (frustration?), Sammy Taylor is improving with every game that I see him, Jamie Dormer and Dave Reddington are getting more solid at the back.

Personally, I think the lads played the best I have seen 'em this season and I'm just speachless at the result. Lets hope our luck turns around soon.

I think we were atleast good for a point but to be honest can you think of their keeper pulling off any amazing saves to deny us what looked like a clear cut goal? we hit the bar fair enough, bad luck or poor finsihing? We seemed to have a lot of the ball, i thought we gave it away a bit to much but we just cant convert possession into good goalscoring opportunities. I thought Leon Hunter had his worst game for us today. He just dint turn up. Think JJ has got to hold his hand up and take the blame for the goal. If you keeper comes for anything in or near the 6yrd box he cant just then flap and drop the ball in the box. Hockton needs a kick up the [****!!****], great player but wants it on a plate all the time, I always see Gary Ansell chasing back if he doesnt get the ball but not hockton.

How much longer can we go saying 'but we are so close to getting it right' ?? no points in 5 is a shocking return. the thing that worries me the most and not sure if anyone else agrees, but i think the lads are giving it their all but if their all isnt good enough as 0 points out of 5 shows then whats the future? We may say we are closer to turing the corner but we have said that before and after every game. An 88th minute goal against is unlucky but what about the whole game before that where we could score ourselves.

Maybe im being negative and will change my views when ive calmed down but im gutted today, fed up and gutted.

Agree with Paulc27, lots of effort but in my opinion not enough quality. The team maybe young and inexperienced but I've seen nothing to give me any optimism that the they will be able to turn things around. I've never felt so flat so early in a season before, the players that have been brought in are in my opinion simply not good enough and the league table reflects that. I fear the worst unless some urgent changes are made.

Although we had most of the possession and looked the better team we again seemed to run out of puff. There was only one team that was likely to score in the last ten minutes and that was Carshalton. We have conceded goals at the end of nearly all of our games now are the players not fit enough?

Agree though we are basically not good enough I do not think any of the teams we have played so far will finish in the top six this season.

But if you have no money you will not be able to get decent players.

Last thought we cannot continue to play two central defensive midfielders in Russell and Leon there is no central support for the strikers.

If the moderators are deleting youre posts in here I think thats appalling and probably means they are 1 of rods cronies. I reckon to stop it from happening you should copy the post and mail it to someone more senior on the site to stop them from violating youre right to freedom of speech.

mmmm can't agree with a lot of this. I thought Hayes looked a very good side and think they will trouble a lot of teams this season. Carshalton on the other hand were a run-of-the-mill outfit who must be very flattered by their league position. I have no idea what the dressing room atmosphere is like, and what can you expect after five defeats, but our 'team' don't look like a load of happy bunnies out there. I'm not going to start knocking everyone, but I did think Ritchie had a poor game, he's young and talented but seems reluctant to put his foot in or respond to onfield criticism (i.e. bollocking from Russ). Russell too had a poor game in my opinion, there is no questioning his heart, but he should know his limitations by now, close control isn't one of his best assets, and lumping the ball down the channels at every oppportunity is a man shorn of confidence. I do believe we will turn this around, not sure about Kingstonian but a home win against Hornchurch is on the cards.

Dan,

I do not know were you heard this information from but this is not the sort of information that should be put on a forum unless you have full proof of your facts.

Remember the forum is open to everyone to read and there-fore how does this read to other clubs.

Please think before you write.

Regards,

Andrew Turner

BTSA Chairman

Sounds a bit like censorship to me.

If a forum is there to be a discussion then any club related subject should be permissible.

At the 'shots we have always and still are airing our dirty laundry in public. Whilst it may not always be palatable at least the fans can have their say.

Dan asked a question - what is wrong with that? I came on here to see why our old rivals were doing so badly (which I find surprising), not to be given a rose-tinted version of the truth which avoiding such issues would give.

I can understand that as Chairman of BTSA you are do not wish to see your club slighted - as would any genuine fan, but at the end of the day this is a discussion board and that is what should happen.

Roy,

I believe the such rumors to be damaging to any club and this isn't dirty laundery, it is a rumor which is not, at present, based on any fact.

Now if Mr. Stampford wishes to reveal his source or at least the basis of his post then his question can be dealt with reasonably.

As for censorship, Andy only asked that he should at least put some "meat on the bone" if he is going to post a rumour.

For the record I know of no bust up between JJ and the manager and if there were such an incident, I for one wouldn't want it posted all over the forum.

Hi Gary,

Your reply has to an extent supported my view. I know there are a few people who will make mischief - I am assuming that Dan is not one of these.Assuming that this is the case, Dan has obviously heard what could be bad news.

By asking the question here, on a discussion board, people, such as yourself, are able to reply with some authority. The reply from Andrew Turner actually has the opposite effect.

Yes I am an 'outsider', but we are going through a similar (though generally accepted as true) situation with our keeper Nikki Bull. As chairman of the BTSA, one would hope that Mr Turner has some idea of the goings on at your club. At no point in his posting does he deny the allegation, leading people such as myself to believe that maybe there is some truth in it. The feeling I was left with was one of "erm, shouldn't mention that in case somebody from another club comes in for him".

Hope that clarifies my thoughts,

Roy

I think Andy is concerned about rumours that are not based in fact and someone coming on here and just doing the "Oh I just heard" bit.

Okay, I understand your point concerning any questions about the club ie, "is it true that....?" (and agree with you concerning freedom of speech) but Billericay Town FC is a small club and rumours of this sort have caused problems in the past with certain people (gossip and the like have a nasty habit of biting and there are those who will never believe his fellow man when they say "it wasn't me"). So in order to keep things as cordial and peaceful as possible, we would rather people investigate or mail myself or Andy Turner so we may enquire on behalf of the person asking. We all have a private mail box on this forum so if anyone wants to know anything this shouldn't be too difficult and either Andy or myself, if Andy is in agreement, will ask the question. That way the peace is kept and certain people aren't giving the supporters association grief about the usage about this forum. If you don't wish to ask us, as Rod Moore. Better coming from the Chairmans mouth than passed down second hand.

As for this rumour of a bust up, who really wants to know? I'm sorry but if it took place, it could've been about something personal like wages or whatever and again, if it was me that was involved I wouldn't want it posted all over the forum.

Once again, I have heard nothing about a bust up and therefore would put it down to someone trying to start some trouble.

Gary Clark

Vice Chairman BTSA
