Molesey 2 v 0 Camberley SSC

Thought I would wonder over to Sandhurst. I will give an independant view of the game before being shot down by people with slightly biased views. Sandhurst dominated possession in the 1st half but only had 2 efforts and Chertsey also had 2 efforts so 0-0 at half time was about right. 2nd half started similar but then changed. Chertsey 5 and Sandhurst 10 challenge for a ball and the Chertsey 5 gets a head injury. Ref does not stop the game so the 5 decided to use some industrial language. Straight Red. Fair enough really. From that point it actually looked like it was Sandhurst with 10. The Chertsey coach was then asked to leave the technical area as from the sending off to that point he forgot he was there to coach and just continually hounded the ref. Chertsey then won a penalty on 65 mins. I was not in a position to see if it was but I am sure someone will let us know. Good penalty and 1-0. Sandhurst then huffed and puffed but never really threatened and actually but for a decent save from TC it would have been 2. In the last minute the Chertsey 4 was given a straight red (I think) for a tackle (I think) but again I am sure people closer to that incident will give a completly unbiased view. Well worth the £6 entrance fee (Yes Smudgey I did pay) Good to see some familar faces there too.

Sandhurst 0-1 Chertsey

(papali penalty)

Massive result for Chertsey, ref had a shocker sandhurst would agree, never let the game flow, sent simon cox off after he had been elbowed and had cut above eye he asked the ref how didn't he see the elbow with a swear word included and got a straight red, then in last minute Danny rouco wins ball but ref deems it dangerous so hands him 2nd yellow card, a debatable Dean papali penalty after a push in the back with 20minutes to go sends Chertsey back top, Craig Bradshaw back in the Chertsey goal and Marcus moody outstanding for the curfews! Could see by celebrations at the end how much of a big result it was!

Epsom & Ewell 1-1 Ash Utd

Only arrived 5 mins into this game, as i'd intended to watch Warlingham v Frimley and found the ground in darkness at 7.30!

Was 0-0 when I got to Merstham and Ash scored just before half time (not sure who). Lots of chances both ends, not sure who got Epsom's equaliser either! Ref seemed to frustrate both teams and booked nearly everyone it seemed. He was being assessed too i think! Draw was probably fair result.

Good to briefly meet aupostie at the end!

egham 2-0 horley

epsom 1-1 ash

sandhurst 0-1 chertsey

Egham Town 2 - 0 Horley Town ht 0 - 0

Charlie Muldowney and Charlie McCarthy scored the goals we deserved against a Horley side held up in awful traffic on the M25. Some truly odd decisions by ref Tom Ellans marred what looked to me a not bad performance, but heaven knows how Liam Hunter got away with so much.

Cobham 4-3 Staines Lammas

Sounds like a cracker ! What happened animal ??

I said it would be a good 1 and it was, end to end action, Cobham started very brightly and raced it to a 2 goal lead, we then got a pentaly and it was converted by edgehill! Cobham went it 2-1 at halftime and happier of the Two teams. After an absolute grilling at hallfime Lammas came out the blocks quick and equalised threw ryan curtis, 5 mins later we went 3-2 up threw edgehill, we had the momentum until cobham were handed a freekick and the fella put it Top bins! Cheers! Both teams were attacking and Cobham went ahead threw another worldy, think keeper could of done better i think, we could of equalised and they could have added. Overall after a poor first half we battled back well but feel we should of seen tje game out 3-2 but credit to cobham they never gave up. Very young fit side. Gutted!!! Another defeat!!!

Cobham 4-3 Staines Lammas

Entertaining game for the neutral, Cobham go into a 2 nil lead with a couple of great strikes, Lammas almost pull one back when the keeper clears the ball straight into the forward and the slowly creeps past the post, Lammas get one back before halftime with a pen, some wanted a red for the defender but did not think it was the case, with other Cobham players close by, Lammas lose their no10 which I thought was a clash of heads and no real complaints from the Lammas players, but he books the Cobham 4, Guy has I believe a broken nose so speedy recovery to him 2-1 h/t

Lammas equalise straight after half time and then go 3-2 up with balls into the channels causing Cobham problems and i thought they'd go on and win from there but Cobham had other thoughts with there no 10 scoring a cracking free kick and then a good passing move and shot from 20yards for 4-3 to Cobham.

Lammas had chances to level but it wasn't to be there night as Cobham held on for the points.

Oh I could probably guess his words wearnt great and may have deserved the red card but when cox came round past us supporters he had a massive cut above the eye so can understand why he was frustrated this is what we are trying to cut out of the game! Maybe the ref could have seen the cut and just booked him and gave him a few words! But a very entertaining game and a draw was probably a fair result but to win titles you need to win games like this!

Hartley 2-1 CB Hounslow

CB Scored in the first minute and for a long time it seemed Hartley were never going to score. Hartley kept trying to play some neat football but resorted to long ball stuff, neither seemed to work and although we looked on top CB were always dangerous on the counter attack.

Thankfully changes were made and with his first touch of the game Willo popped up to equalise. You could sense Hartley wanted more and Willow stepped up to fire home a sublime curling shot to send the home fans into a frenzy.

The next ten and it was backs to the wall, CB came at us and the fact that we held it at the corner flag for a full on five minutes shows how dangerous on the attack they looked.

I wasn't ever going to mention our recent run or our league position, but there's no hiding from it now....long may this buzz continue.

Cobham 4-3 Staines

Shane Rideout with a hat trick for Cobham and Ollie Wayne with the other.

A game where both defensives seemed to struggle. We kept getting caught out by one ball through the middle. Our height didn't help either, must have been one of the smallest sides ever put out in the CCL. Both central defenders were well under six foot. Jurgs had a back problem and Rousey has a long term knee injury so Chris Nelson played in goal again. Also we had a famous ref, not sure what he was doing reffing in the CCL,forgotten his name, but he's the Ref who wears a turban and i've definatly seen him as a 4th official in the prem and reffing in the championship. Also reffed at Woking a lot a few years back and did the Neil Smith testomonial game.

We took the lead, didn't see build up as was busy doing other things, just saw a low driven shot from Rideout that beat the keeper. One Nil Cobham. Doubled the lead with a nice little move that ended with a decent finish from Ollie Wayne, Two Nil and cruising. Then the Lammas number 10 who had already taken a boot the ribs and a ball in the jacobs went down with what looks like a broken nose and soon after Lammas had a pen which was a stone waller. Well finished. Towards the end of the half Lammas were well on top and half time couldn't have come sooner for us.Lammas scored so early in the second half I missed it but I saw third goal and our defence were caught out and striker finished well. In five minutes Lammas had turned the game around and had all the momentum but the way both defences were playing it would stay 3-2.

Step forward Shane Rideout. Freekick, 25yards out (at least) Bends it straight in the top corner. Fantastic. Then 10 minutes later he picks up the ball in a wide area, cuts inside and from about 20yards out bends the ball over the keeper and in off the bar. 4-3. Great game. Really good result from a Cobham point of you. You can see why the ref has reffed a lot higher because he was outstanding all night, controlled the game fantastically and decision making spot on. Having said that as the ref walked off he was met by some Staines fans moaning about his performance and blaming him for the loss. I genuinly have no idea why!!!

As CB said it was a second yellow for the second dismissal. Debatable penalty. I didn't see it as I was punching the ball away and it was behind me but our Assistant Manager said it was a pen from where he was standing. The ref made some odd calls, notibly to caution our left winger for a late tackle which missed the ball and player, should have taken the slippery conditions into account. Unfortunately he made a rod for his own back by that decision and did not follow it through. If he was consistent, our 11 should have been dismissed for a second yellow just before half time for a similar incident, and likwise for the Chertsey 9 for sliding in on me after I picked the ball up. The only time he was consistent with the decision making was the second dismissal.

I can understand why the centre half was upset as he was caught by an arm when our striker went to jump for the ball, but if he did call the ref a c u next Tuesday then he got what he deserved.

A game of few chances. There goalkeeper only had to make one save and excluding the penalty, I only had to make two.

It was a bit unessesary the way the coach who had to leave the dugout ran onto the pitch after the game. He appears to be lucky that the officials missed that.

The way Chertsey celebrated after the game appears to suggest that they see us as a threat and I guess that is a compliment for us but really if they are throwing around the money that is being mentioned, then they should be tearing teams like us with no budget apart. We have a good team spirit at the moment and money can't buy that. If one of our players gets substituted they are dissapointed unlike being subbed and being about as bothered as David Milliband was of being on the Labour front bench.

Decent crowd with a good split of fans, just a shame we did not get a result.

PS, old guy beind my goal needs to work on his banter yes you beat us with only 9 men, but you only had 9 for 30 seconds.
