What a welcoming bunch some of us are ...in need of a proven goalscorer but only one that meets the requirements of being a "bloody good bloke" in their eyes.

 

As for players that The Royal "We" don't like we had Nichols last season and now Bertie this season...Amusing that some of the comments can be, we're lucky to have had either player turn out for us for whatever reason...we're a club on a budget and Craig and his team are doing the best they can do with it. They may think twice about brining in a player next time, just in case they upset those with a more sensitive dispositon about their previous record (with us or not). Or perhaps they should circulate a CV for all of us to approve before they sign.

 

I for one welcome Bertie and I hope he does well...if he stays...

 

...and if he reads this and thinks "f*ck 'em, I can't be bothered", I'm sure there are those that will hold that against him...

 

...bereft of thought that they'll look to themselves.

I thought Bertie was a good influence on our game Tuesday, until the unfortunate Red, and I hope he stays.

 

Just a personal opinion (aren't they all) but I find it far easier to come to terms with Bertie running around in Blue shirt than I did Manuella. Berties only crime is to chase the dollar and I bet there's a lot of us guilty of that.

Hmm , personally if i was manager i would think "what a lovely problem it is to have Bertie Brayley" .... We have seen enough players come and go over the years to know that no-one sticks around for infinity , so whilst he is here and "if" he scores goals all the better. Overall goalscoring record is IRO 160 starts, 65 goals.

 

Not definitive, but add his 2 spells at Chelmsford and stints with us, Braintree, and Stortford to what is on Wikipedia; and that should be about right...

He's a good mate, and it just annoys me when supporters are so pre-opinioned on a player... I think people sometimes forget that even though they pay their gate fee, that it's the manager who makes the signings, and I've never once heard of a manager signing a player purposely to weaken his squad...

 

He didn't quite show as much as he could have done in his time with us, and I'd like to see him do well...

I've just read that post again, and finally worked out where you're going with that last bit...

 

And I can categorically state that I am not who Craig thinks I am either...

 

Although it did make me laugh hearing him shout at Cowley ''been on your forums have you...!!'', when truth be told he struggles to turn a PC on...
