Yet more news on Broxbourne Borough from the Non League Today Website today:

Molten Spartan South Midlands league Premier Division club Broxbourne Borough have bolstered their squad.

Manager Tom Mundt (pictured), the ex-Barnet, Grays Athletic and St Patrick`s Athletic player, confirmed to nonleaguedaily that, following a disappointing overall performance in a 1-0 defeat against Oxhey Jets last Saturday, Nicky Marsh had been warmly welcomed back into the Boro fold.

Marsh returns after a short spell spent at Ryman League Division One North neighbours Ware.

Marsh, a former Hertford Town player, is such an assest due to the versatility of roles he can perform, but is very comfortable in the back line.

Also signing for Boro is centre back Graeme Butler, who makes the shortest of journeys from another Ryman Division One North neighbour in Cheshunt, while John Offei joins the club from Ilford.

Here we go again folks, whatever Broxbourne Borough's imaginative press Secretary is on I would like some of it:

Molten Spartan South Midlands League club Broxbourne Borough have met with considerable success over the past two seasons, winning in turn the Herts Charity Shield in 2008/09 and the Spartan South Midlands League Challenge Trophy last term.

However, these are changed times at Goffs Lane, and with manager Tom Mundt issuing a rallying call prior to his side`s 1-0 Kentish Town reverse on Saturday, there is now a need to

rebuild.

A number of players have been taken on during the past couple of months and they need time to gel. “We will cease adding to the squad when we consider the mix is right for us to effectively meet the challenge head on,” said Mundt.

The former Barnet, Grays Athletic and St Patrick`s Athletic player added: “What we want to build here is a squad with players who really want to play for this club. We will need to tinker with our current framework between now and Christmas. Lessons have been learned and digested but we will get the balance right.”

Good news towards this end is that long-term injured Matt Watts, an influential central defender, is now only two or three weeks away from regular match action, now back in training and taking part in the warm-ups and giving a welcome boost all round.

Mundt added: “We have also signed three excellent young players within the last few days, two of whom made the starting line-up against Kentish Town, with the other on the bench.

“These are players who excite me. Rio Enver has signed from near-neighbours Potters Bar Town and plays wide right or left. He has real pace, and at 19 has a bright future ahead of him.”

Mundt spoke with great enthusiasm towards his other weekend debut-maker, Tegana James (pictured), signed from St Albans City and a player who has made first-team appearances for the Blue Square Bet South club.

“Tejay is a very positive signing for us at aged 20. He has real pace and can play either up front or in midfield.”

Aiden Ephraim completes the trio of signings and he was on the bench on Saturday but will likely figure at some time in Thursday`s Goffs Lane friendly when Boro take on Ryman League Division One North side Wingate & Finchley.

Mundt added: “Aiden is a young player, tall strong and with bags of potential as a central midfield player. His chance will definitely come.”

There's no need to bother. Ryan was indeed at Cambridge City at the start of the season, but Craig was doing so well that Ryan hardly got a look-in. Makes a change from that County Cup final at Letchowrth between Broxbourne (3) and Royston (0), when Wade was magic, and Hammond was rubbish!
