How have the officials been?

Hi,

Due to date confusion I'm not on the CCFL this month and causing havoc with my refereeing on lower leagues.  Yes, the leagues where those winning the toss demand the right to kick-off, or that I cautions just don't apply in their league because 'the other refs don't do it'....

So, tell me: How have things been going with the officials on CCFL?

I know I'm getting older and older, but the refs this season seem to be YOUNGER and YOUNGER !

Teffers and I and a few more 'senior' followers of the hallowed game did 'chew the fat' over this seasons officials at Meadowbank yesterday.

Lets just leave it there, Merc !

We have a few of the CCL refs doing the Suburban Prem ...Some of the officials we have are superb and some just can't hack it but thats at all levels..... The main thing is they still go out there and enable us to do what we all love which is football........

Well said Weebs, bout time we respected the refs.

We had Dave Cooper tonight and in all honesty thought he hated the home sides, but tonight he was fair all round and probably didn't produce cards when I thought they were stonewall. We had tackle early on where it could have been classed as almost last man and so I wasn't sure what card he would show...but none! later in the second half, one of our midfielders about to shoot, tackle from behind, no card...at least he was consistent.

Respect to refs, different breed but they still love football!

On the whole not to bad.

My only concern has been the two very young referee's we have had. (and the plonker who reported me at Chees & Hook)

Both were very poor, lacked any basic understandng of the game and did not seem ready for the step up.

In both games the assistants seemed more experienced.

I know everyone has got to learn but you would not pick a youth player if he wasn't ready to step up !

Cheers

Steve
