Windsor v Aylesbury

Hmmm....we played very well in the first half and completely bossed the game, should have and would have been three up if it wasn't for their goalkeeper putting in a terrific performance.

The second started well but we seemed to drop off and they took full adavantage but throwing everything they had at us. Probably an entertaining game for a neutral, end to end stuff and one superb goal from Dave Pearce. I wonder if we thought we had won it by half time and just had to go out there and job done.

The officiating was poor, cards for nothing and thenn no cards when something does happen. This is not just against us, I was sure Aylesbury were going to get a penalty near the end for a pretty clear handball, but he just waved the game on, the reaction of their players was evidence that they clearly thought it was a penalty as well. I guess we will have his pleasure tuesday night as well.

Man of the match must be Dave Pearce, he tore them to pieces down the left and scored a cracking goal. The only player on the park who could take the MoM would be their keeper, the save he made in the first half from the diving header by Woozley (Ithink it was him) was one for the picture album.

We could have easily lost yesterday to a poor team because we didn't finish the game in the first half, when we should have. Chenns looked out of sorts and doesn't seem to be enjoying the sole role up front, Mudge is clearly filling the midfield to try to stop teams dominating us there. It is working very well and hats off to the man for what he has acheived already this season, lets hope he cann Chenns back on form (like he was against Weymouth) and we can get through on Tuesday and get a friendly draw in the next round.

Oh well lets go through it all again Tuesday at Aylesbury

I thought apart from the cirencester game it was the poorest performance of the season! Chenns never got into the game and missed two clear cut chances and Fiston was way off the pace! We looked good in defence again apart from the error for the goal. Still a chance to put it right on Tuesday and going to Aylesbury is much better than driving all the way to Cambridge!

We didn't really get the flowing football going and, although it's probably a measure of the expectations created from recent performances, I too thought it was a somewhat disappointing display.

But we can't be at our best every game and, to be fair, if their 'keeper hadn't been so good it could have been 3 or 4.

If we can beat Aylesbury on Tuesday we face a trip to either Burnham or Brackley! Could be interesting! We do need to get as far as possible through this competition as the prize fund for winning this round is £2000 and for the following round £2300!

Not the worst draw but not the best either. Burnham would be my favoured draw but both winnable if we can get past Aylesbury. Need to put in one of our better performances tomorrow.

But the thing is if we can play not to our best and not lose, then that is a good sign. I think Rother got it right that the team have set our expectations high with the quality of performances they have put in that when an average performance is given we are slightly disappointed.

I think Mudge will "Motivate" the players to get a more complete performance tomorrow.

UTR!!!
