Hi Coachie

Hi Coup grin.gif I really miss those Reumathoids and Urchins battles! It's far too easy now....smilewinkgrin.gif

who are you kidding apart from yourself you cant win a banter contest, you have to send an email to the Essex FA about my comments or grass up clubs who have a goalkeeper clash or a dugout issue. You are nothing but a tell tale t1t.cheesy%20(2).gif

There's a good chance of our paths crossing when the FA Trophy draw is made on Monday..

I feel a Rubicon moment coming on.

Is that right.. still no League wins but umpteen in cups this season?

Yep Coup,4 draws that should have been 4 wins and two 1-0 narrow defeats(Bethnal and Apsa)with penalty miss in injury time and Enfield defeat at home which is the only one we can't argue. No panic at Hullbridge and end of October is approaching again for the Bridge boys....I can categorically say that I wouldn't give a monkey where we are in the League this year providing we reach the FA Vase quarter-finals at least and another little Cup final somewheregrin.gif Although To me beating those Uncle Duck's from Witham would be priceless! As we say in Rome...better than a shag!grin.gif

Turned up at Eton Manor v Enfield 20 minutes late to be told Enfield had just gone 2-0 up, and within seconds they scored again to make it 3-0, and the Manor keeper made two splendid saves before half time to keep it at 3. Then, as sods law declares, the first attack of the second half the keeper drops a simple catch and it was 4-0. But then Enfield literally stopped playing and they almost paid for it. Manor could have scored twice before they got their first, then Enfield shopuld have been reduced to 10 following a last man foul that the referee judged fair. I was right in line with it - the defender was nowhere near the ball. Then Manor scored their second and still had time to strike the woodwork in the last minute which would have meant a nervy spell of injury time for Enfield.

Must say the game was poorly refereed. The ref seemed keen to dish out cardes for what appeared to be verbal, but there were a couple of very naughty tackles, from both sides, that were punished simply with a quick word but no card. I'd say there was one from each side that some refs would even have judged as straight reds!!

So having read about what was said about the Stansted - Barking game - maybe this is something that needs looking at. Refs spending less time worrying about how many people are stood in the dugout and what colour undershorts people are wearing (and their expenses!!) and more time worrying about poor challenges.

Press up if the referee had from the start of the game had the intention of booking all and sundry then our game might of ended up 9 against 9,your number 5 in the 1st 5 minutes should have got a yellow card for pulling down our forward but all the referee did was give him a talking to which he then seemed to do all game, yes i agree that there were some bad tackles but they where from both sides mate, the ref set his stall out from the kick off i agree he should have been alot stronger in his decision making,as for the so called penalty that you were denied that is why we have assistant referees/linesman for because if the referee or assistant had thought is was a penalty then either one of them would have gave it you know in football that sometimes decisions go for you and sometimes they go against you thats football ,both players of both teams gave no quarter in the 90 minutes,in reflection and in my opinion stansted deserved their 2-0 win as in the 1st half we had numerous chances to kill the game off by half time, credit where credit is due barking rallied 2nd half and made it difficult for stansted,on your showing yesterday ive no doubt that you will be climbing up the table your a good side that works hard on and off the ball and likes to get the ball down and play.

All the best for the season.

Compaq7500 as a nutural spectator at the game i feel i am in a good position to give a fair assessment of the refereeing display and the tackles which went by without action. im not quite sure why you are implying that Barkings number 5 should have been booked within the first 5 mins after so calling pulling down your forward. if you watched the incident properly you would have seen that as the Barking player made the tackle (that he won) as he went to stand up your number 9 i think it was had the Barkings players head between his legs. he simply went to stand up and from which the the striker fell backwards due to it being impossible for the defender to remove his head, so on a personal not i think the ref got that spot on. Now in relation to the rest of the tackles i think one from each side should have gone, Barkings number 4 for repetitve fouling and Stansteads right back for constantly going in studs up and repetitive fouling. Now the foul which led to the injury for the Barking winger was also a bad challengen but i felt the referee dealt with that fairly well and the players from both sides seemed to get agree with this. One thing i didnt appreciate was the fact that the home manager clearly shouted that his player had got the ball when everyone who was on the pitch and around the ground clearly saw it was a very very late challenge! Overall there were tackles which needed to be dealt with but went unpunished and if the refs dont start cracking down on these tackles there will be an increased number of injuries at this level.

Good luck both teams next stop Heybridge for me.

Good to get a neutral view all of which I agree with. Regarding "He got the ball", which I heard as well but I didn't want to mention because I don't want this to develop into an inter club dispute and the person who said it no doubt genuinely believed it, our injured player had what looked suspiciously like stud marks between his ankle and his knee. It appears from the various postings that a lot of us agree about lenient refereeing in respect of dangerous tackles. Is anyone "listening"? Having seen one very nasty broken leg this season I hope not to see any more.
