Ref was a disgrace at the Barking game.

Could have been 4 red cards, should have been at least two, one for each side (no.3 for stansted and no.4 for barking). All the poor tackles came as a result of his failure to control.

And he failed to give one of the most blatant penalties ever to Barking, completely unexplainable.

Bethnal Green 0 Southend manor 1. Well done to the manor

Cheers Gaffa1,

You boys played some great football today - probably the best side i've seen this season.

We just battled hard and defended to the end once we got the goal and could have maybe caught you a couple of times on the break.

Thought it was a good game though all in all.

Best of luck for the rest of the season ( apart from Manor away of course)

I was at the Stansted v Barking game as a Barking supporter . I agree that neither side should have complained if 1 man from each side was sent off. There weresome fierce tackles as the game developed and it is a matter for conjecture whether less lenient refereeing might have deterred some of them. I know that it is initially the players' responsibility but I just feel that the knowledge that such tackles would be punished might act as a deterrent and also might help to prevent some of the players' frustration developing. One of the tackles resulted in our 16 year old player being carried off .In my opinion most of the match officials at this level seem to be lenient - none of the tackles in this game were judged worthy of more than a free kick or a yellow card and when a yellow card had been shown subsequent offences were punished by just a free kick, if at all.Such things as ensuring 10 yards at free kicks , obstructing opponen ts, dealing with time wasting etc are hardly ever enforced .

Regarding the penalty which Barking should have had -I know that I am biased but nobody to whom I spoke on either side even suggested that it was not a penalty-it seemed so obvious to everybody apart from the match officials.

Press up if the referee had from the start of the game had the intention of booking all and sundry then our game might of ended up 9 against 9,your number 5 in the 1st 5 minutes should have got a yellow card for pulling down our forward but all the referee did was give him a talking to which he then seemed to do all game, yes i agree that there were some bad tackles but they where from both sides mate, the ref set his stall out from the kick off i agree he should have been alot stronger in his decision making,as for the so called penalty that you were denied that is why we have assistant referees/linesman for because if the referee or assistant had thought is was a penalty then either one of them would have gave it you know in football that sometimes decisions go for you and sometimes they go against you thats football ,both players of both teams gave no quarter in the 90 minutes,in reflection and in my opinion stansted deserved their 2-0 win as in the 1st half we had numerous chances to kill the game off by half time, credit where credit is due barking rallied 2nd half and made it difficult for stansted,on your showing yesterday ive no doubt that you will be climbing up the table your a good side that works hard on and off the ball and likes to get the ball down and play.

All the best for the season.

Can you remind me about this so called penalty incident, because for the life of me I cannot remember it.

I do recollect your no 5 climbing all over our no 9 in the first half which all your management agreed should have been a penalty to us so please remind an old man with probably tinted Stansted goggles on when your shout was.

Also agreed on another day the game could have had 4-5 red cards, this is what happens when you get weak refs.

Consistency is what we all ask for in referee's

That is all i asked for when i commented on a referee, does seem "coachie" that you will allow others to have an opinion on a referee, kindly tell me the difference as for the life of me, the only difference i can see is that you have a massive problem with Witham and me particularly.

Nothing against Barking or Stansted but will you be emailing the Essex FA. Personally i can not see anything they have said that is a problem, but hey if i had of written it i would of been hang out to dry by the Witham Bashers.... lolcheesy%20(2).gif

Apologies to every one else, but if Coachie wants to get me in trouble with the Essex FA, i will make a song and dance about it and be like a dog with a bone until treated fairly by the supergrass.

Consistency please.

First half about 40th minute. Mark Steadman flicked ball over defender and set off to run in on goal but appeared to be brought down by defender. I mentioned it in the Stansted boardroom at half time and nobody said that it wasn't a penalty . Also a Stansted player and a member of Stansted management said that they thought that it was a penalty. Obviously everybody from Barking thought so too. You didn't see it. I didn't see the one to which you refer. The referee gave neither of them. That's life.

I agree about both sides-never intended to suggest otherwise. Also agree that Stansted deserved to win. But ,had either the referee or the assistant thought that it was a penalty and had we scored it at 1-1 you just never know. Life is all ifs though . Sounds like I'm making excuses now but it is fact that we have 7 players injured for several weeks and yesterday another was unavailable and our second leading scorere was taken ill shortly before the match (leading scorer among the injured).Thats 9 of the squad unavailable. I don't know how strong Stansted's squad was and you might have had players missing too. All part of life and we just do our best but it doesn't help.
