RESULTS 16TH OCTOBER

Smudge

Recommended Posts

thought we dominated the 1st 30 mins Dunc's. I can remember Justin pulling off 2 decent saves and we had chances to score that Egham threw their bodies in front of in those 30 minutes. That was all we had to give and barely got going 2nd half !

Raising myself out of bed this morning was tough with all the bruises sustained yesterday but i did expect it and will bounce back Tuesday....IF FIT !

Was that you, the No 6 with the rueful smile after we had gone 1-0 up. We were as shocked as anyone - Pommers' dad said we looked like a different team in the second half. I heard Koo say to push Johnno up and the No 16 (I think) to sit in front of your defence and once we had taken off Romayne and put Oaksy on we looked a lot more effective. To be fair though, Cove were the more cohesive side in the first half. Thank heavens the Noady thing didn't get in anyone's way!

Bedfont sports 1-1 Warlingham

Old cliche ..game of 2 halves Warlingham domintaed the first and had the better chances to take a lead. Bedfont played neat and tidy first half no end product uptop though.

Second half Bedfont had the better chances and they missed a penalty on 65 which seemed to hit bedfont hard and their heads dropped Warlingham battled away and got goal on 75 and a goal that I thought was enough to win the game then on 86 a harmless ball in to warlingham penalty area beats the right back and falls to the bedfont sub to smash home 1-1. Warlingham then go and press and Lee Jansen hits the bar from 20 yards and we miss rebound aswell. Over all you cant be dissappointed witha point at Bedfont but I thought we had done enough for all 3. Must say excellent facilities and a decent club Bedfont Sports. Pitch was superb. Down side the referee..... Shocking!! if any Bedfont Sports posters are on this forum tell me what you think!!

It was nice to meet up with Teffers and Glynn, and Co yesterday at Meadowbank. (Bookham - Chessington and Hook.)

I won't comment on the game OR the officials,

I think that all that had to be said was definitely said on the touch-line !!

Badshot Lea v Dorking

With apologies to Aaron Ageyman for spelling his name wrong in the credits!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKNiVXW9J4g

Great footage as usual TRS - I see your point about some woeful Dorking finishing.

Did you spot the trick clearly learned from JJ at around 1min30sec - the back heel thru the defenders legs ?

Hadn't noticed that GF, well spotted - Billy Ramsey doing a JJ!

From the Dorking games I have seen so far, Chicks haven't looked like a bottom side in that they are not overrun in games or anything like that. Just need a cutting edge up front. Easier said than done mind!

Is that another new keeper for Badshot Lea?

Away win

Played well on a good playing surface. Croydon took the lead when the fullback headed home after a keeper mistake. Soon after we levelled when Croydon's centerback put the ball past his own keeper. Then just before halftime Lee O'Donnell headed home a James Blason (yep he's back) freekick. 2nd half played very & should have scored more than just the one goal through James.

Croydon had a couple chances towards the end but thought we did enough to gain the win

It was also good to see the manager being able to pick almost his strongest side for the 1st time this season

HERE'S THE OFFICIAL DFC MATCH REPORT:

Badshot Lea went to the top of the CCL Premier Division with a hard fought win over an improving Dorking side, Pete Buckland seeing his team command a fair bit of possession in this match only to see some wayward finishing result in a slightly misleading scoreline.

Buckland went into the game without a large number of the side who had drawn away at Raynes Park Vale. In midweek. relative newcomers Michael Che and Mike Bristow were out with injury, centre back Joe Chandler was suspended while the scorer at Raynes Park Vale, Terry Fennessey was unavailable. Dorking’s bench was depleted, but Buckland was able to name on his subs list the influential Tyrone Oliver and Luke Reid after a period of injury.

Badshot Lea went into the game in second place and must have fancied their chances of improving their points tally against a Dorking side sitting in 19th spot going into the game. But Dorking’s performances have improved of late, and for 44 minutes of the first half Chicks did really well matching their high flying hosts and belying their lowly position in the league. Indeed Dorking probably should have taken the lead in the 35 minute when Martin Waldren passed by a good opportunity to shock Badshot Lea. A lapse of concentration on the stroke of half time though undid the good work, Badshot Lea switching play to good effect to see Agyeman score for the hosts and give Badshot a lead which slightly flattered their overall first half performance.

It got even worse just after the break when Agyeman made it 2-0 on just 48 minutes, the Dorking defence surprised not to see an offside flag raised as the forward sprung the Dorking defence to go through one on one and slot the ball past Dorking keeper John McBride. Dorking responded well and looked like they may give themselves a lifeline as Chicks took the game to the home team, especially after the introduction of Tyrone Oliver and Luke Reid from the bench.

The ball though would just not fall for Dorking and on 65 minutes Badshot killed the game winning and converting a penalty on the break as Dorking pushed for the opening that would see them back in the match. Even at 3-0 down Dorking attempted to keep playing, but saw no reward for their effort, the team lacking a natural goalscorer that could perhaps turn good performances into points.

Dorking now play at home to Guildford City on Tuesday 19 October, home to Colliers Wood Utd on Saturday 23 October (both in the league) before a home Surrey Senior Cup tie versus Bookham on Tuesday 26 October. Dorking’s U18s play away at Woking’s Kingfield Stadium on Wednesday 20 October.

SQUAD:-

John McBride: David Suchy: JonTyler: Toby Fitzgibbon: Dan Evans: Harry Maneh: David McCann: Sam Sawyers: Dean Cox: Martin Waldren: Billy Ramsey.

SUBSTITUTES:-

Tyrone Oliver: Luke Reid.

Dorking gave us quite a game 1st half and with better finishing it might of been a different game but in all fairness we were quite comfortable and had a few more goals in us.

LOL @ the word ANOTHER where Badshot Lea is concerned!

Matt has been with us for a little while now. Decent Keeper.

I

what happened to blaze at baggy lea??

I take it your asking me that question JJ.....

James is a mate and a very good player as most of us well know - I would just say it didn't really work out for Blaze and I think he was used to playing a certain way at Ash with almost everything going through him and obviously with a couple of new players at the club and a new system of playing it just wasn't allowing Blaze to show his best. He's back at Ash now and good luck to him. His first training session back must have been awkward after they tried to kick the absolute sh*t out of him when we played them a month ago or so Hahahahahaha.

The Badshot v Ash game in a few weeks will be interesting as if the first one wasn't spicy enough ay!

watched the 1st one and yes a few tackles went in but i think Blaze got away quite lightly. I wasnt so lucky on Tuesday. Nursing a sore jaw and stud scrapes down my achilles. Egham finished me off nicely on Saturday. Still asking myself why the heck i play footy!

Smudge can tell ya!

I guess TRS comments are down to the fact that on the 3 occasions he has filmed the Baggies this season, there have been different keepers. In fact there have been 5 overall (Jon Ashwood, Matt Watson, Lee Allen, Elvis Eckhardt and Matt Smith) - not forgetting the cameo from Keith Emmerson when Elvis was sent off at North Greenford. As TT says, looks like Matt Smith has settled in nicely - never an easy position where any mistake usually means a goal. frown.gif

Out of interest, are there any other "top" Premier sides that don't have a goalkeeper coach - must be difficult for "normal" coaches to cover this specialist position
