Ursuline dropped 1 place, 1st to 2nd , swapping places with the Isle of Sheppey Academy, following this result. Last year at the seasons end the only defeat was the difference that saw the Academy finish 2nd in the league to Tonbridge grammar.

Wednesday was as the saying goes, "one of those day's". They were lethargic, seeming to have something else on their minds. perhaps the events of the night before had taken their toll on the kids minds!

Spare time is at a premium this week so I do not have time to give a full report.

It was a game that saw chances squander by both sides, though I thought Ursuline were the better side on the whole.

Rye opened the scoring for Ursuline burying his chance.

Joe hickman was booked after 2 previouse warnings, as was Tom Peachy 2nd 1/2, why?

Sandwich equalised in the early part of the 2nd 1/2, the ball should have been cleared. Sandwich were back in it.

Sandwich increased their lead from the penalty spot. Player brought down just inside the far right corner of the penalty area. 2-1.

Ursuline struck back when Arnold Murrage took advantage of a poor Clarance to see his drive hit the net, 2-2.

Sandwich took the lead again when The Ursuline keeper was adjudged to have brought a sandwich player down in the far left of the box.(yellow card). sandwich made it 3-2 from the box.

As i said it "was one of those day's", Ursuline should have put this match out of sight, on another day they would have.

M-O-M , choice of 2. Tom Peachy who could at another time have had 4 goals. and my choice Dan Langiano.

The B team played Oakwood Park at Birchington. They were one up until the 90th minute when oakwood park equalised, disaster struck on the 93rd when Oakwood park had a speculative shot that went in. 1-2.

It was nice to meet up with Sandwich coach Mark Weatherly, and catch up. Helped to warm up a bitter cold, windy day, along with Janet Potters never ending supply of Mints.

Out of interest, Sandwich also had a Chelsea coach on the bench.

BB.

Roll on Saturday and a Reserve trip to Beckenham town fc.

Sorry about that. "Arnold", you didn't take advantage of Clarence, but of a clearance.
