Alex Waugh

Very Surprised to see him go out on loan this morning as he looked a decent forward to me.

After Tuesday night i thought he should at least of made the bench this Saturday and i was looking forward to seeing him up front with Welford.

I dont think we should get too carried away with the scoreline last weekend as Horesham were very poor defensively.

Apart from Welford i found it difficult to see where the goals will come from against decent opposition.

That is why in my opinion this weekend would have been ideal to give him a run out in the first team, then decide whether he should be sent out on loan.

Don't forget the multi-dimensional balancing act that Ian has to manage as well; the right players individually, the right combination of players collectively, within a budget. All managers to a greater or lesser extent have the same challenge of course and in Alex's case, we can call him back if we need him. It's potentially better for us and him for him to be playing and improving - rather than just sat on the bench - for when we really do need another striker.

I am sure what Wellsie says is true.

But i cannot think of many players that score 2 goals in a game then immediately shipped out on loan.

Crazy!!

I presume we are having an addition to the front line because now we have just the 3 forwards. 4 if you include Grant. Kamara (if he is still with us & if he is, if he is fit).Pinnock (who may still be injured) & Welford. I would have thought loaning out Winchcombe & or Harrington might have been the better option/s but as Alan says & I agree, Ian surely knows what he is doing so I am watching this space.

It WILL do Alex good though to get full games under his belt, I agree on that one,as it would with the two I mention.

Whilst he may be on 'recall' (i'm not sure you can get immmediate recall ) what specifically at this stage is the agreed loan period.

That aside, its a bit ironic that Alex Waugh is getting more column inches by leaving the club temporarily ,than he has in the 3 months he has been with us ?

Different type of players -except 2 years ago when Pinnock went mad scoring goals-but who is the most likely goal scorer in the team out of Pinnock and Waugh-i suggest Waugh.

However, i guess in a different role Pinnock adds more, but i've never really seen him as a striker as such.

As others suggest-surely room for both-unless IOC is signing a bona fide striker experienced at this level.

I suspect we will get a young lightweight loanee who is put out from a lower league club to 'gain experience' and frankly-i'd rather have Waugh.

However-a month at faversham will equally be beneficial to Waugh-so as wellsie suggests-it is a question of balance

As he has been loaned this week-i assume MFC will allow AW to play for faversham in their Trophy tie-which rather ironically is against Ryman premier opposition in Kingstonian-so if he does well in that game-maybe it is a good sign that he has the ability.I wonder if IOC will have him watched to see how he shapes up v Kingstonian.

Only seen glympses of him-but even so-got a gut feel that he has got what it takes
