No i swear to god PAGE 18 of this weeks Observer

 

"On to more important mattersnow and it has come to my attention that several members of the unofficial supporters club EFM have had a warning about their behaviour at matches from chairman John Gibson.

Tads response to this is that it's one thing rescueing a club from financial peril but singling out wrongdoers in programme notes will do little to encourage those people watching city play for the first time to come agian.

 

Attendances at clarence perk aernt exactly rocketing Mr Gibson - perhaps you could have dealt with this internally?

 

EFM provide vocal and loyal support to the saints. Punish then if they over step the mark but do not persecute them for being in a collective, Says TAD"

Eh? Quite the reverse I would have thought, unless they are also 'wrongdoers' of course..

Colin, I don't think I misread the first quote, but how first-time fans react to the programme notes is difficult to predict.

 

When Gibbo says a 'total ban' I think he means all home games for the individuals concerned, but there again it could be interpreted as banning all of EFM.

 

Think this is another one for the graveyard.

I agree that a "total ban" means Clarence Park, but he actually took about 10 of us to one side last season, and said that we'd ALL be banned if there's any more trouble.

I'm tempted to close this thread rather than stick it in the Graveyard, but at the same time, this board is the only place where we can put across OUR side. We don't have the privilege of being able to express our view in the programme. This board is our only means of being able to do so.
