Apart from personally having one which may bug me all weekend, I got a strange computer one this morning, so watch out!

From: mab <mab@brasierharris.co.uk> Add Address

Subject: Albans City F.C.

Date: Wed, 27 Aug 2003 12:59:11 +0100

To: <me, of course>

Attachments: 2

Attachments:

1 sacfc.co[1].pif 95344 bytes

2 sacfc.co[1].htm 47377 bytes

The second one opens the front page of the St.Albans city website, but the last news item was St.Noets Town 0-2 St.Albans City

The first one got zapped by the virus checker, .pif was of the the doc name that attached itself to last weeks major virus that swept the world.

It's just bizarre that the subject line is "Albans City FC" while the attachments are both sacfc - So watch out people!

That's an odd one, EFMTFTV.

You should know that my knowledge of the information superhighway could not be described as encyclopaedic. It's not difficult for me to apply my mibd to matters other than how this lot works. However.

For reasons which are irrelevant, I do not keep an address book feature in the E-mail thing of this PC. I have never sent you an E-mail, [even though I like you]. Brasier Harris are an entirely reputable firm of Commercial Property Agents in Watford and 'mab' is one of their partners. I receive E-mails from them and, probably, I am in 'mab's address book. To my knowledge, I didn't receive the virus E-mail, however.

I can think of no connection between Brasier Harris and SACFC, although it occurs to me that their details would appear on a mailing list that the club might have acquired in connection with some mail-shot over sponsorship matters. But then, is your E-mail address on the Club's computer system?

It's times like this when I am pleased that, in addition to football, I don't know anything about computers.

That's very odd!

By all accounts this virus attches itself to your address book and e-mails everybody in it. The sender is normally a name from one of the address books.

I can only presume then that either the club or the sacfc mailing list is the one that's been virused!

So if i'm in the address book and so is mab, it can send me the virus from him, likewise he could have one from me!

Wierd thing is i'm not sure my new e-mail has been updated on most sites from my old one!
