I have now taken 24 hours to reflect on yesterdays game and there are a number of points that have come out.

 

Firstly the lack of self control of players who gob off and get themselves booked - those behind the goal came up odds of who would get booked for decent, and the odds were spot on as with ten minutes one of the favourites was booked for just that!

 

Secondly the lack of communication form the bench - for long periods there was no one from the Slough bench stood up shouting out directions, both Bateman and Anderson were sat there watching the mess unfold and neither had the gumption to get up and give direction. Batemans plan "B" stands for Brains and it is badly lacking.

 

Thirdly and this has been touched on above by Ian, we had 4 forwards on for most of the second half, meaning there was only 2 midfielders, so we were overrun in the middle and the quality of the passing was poor. Even with all these forwards on it was a midfielder who scored! Sam Bateman has been one of the best midfield players of late - did he get a game? - no he stayed on the bench!

 

I hope the players are reading this forum as they need to understand and learn from these poor performances, and most of all understand the frustrations of the supporters who loyaly follow the team traveling for many hours and spending hard earned cash to watch the players performances and then get served up the rubbish of yesterday.
