We need to learn to lose

when you look over the past few years you see that we've been spoilt in terms of football and victories. Jeff has done great things with the team/club and when we lose it hurts (especially when it's a top of the table clash). No one likes to loose but after the media attention of the last couple of years we've become the Man Utd of the Ryman league. Chant's of 'No one likes us, we don't care' are actually true now.
I love watching Canvey and I do a lot of miles just to watch home games but if it was called off or not, last nights match would have been lost.
Lets just look to seek revenge in a few weeks at their place and hope that a couple of teams can do us a favour.
Pick yourselves up boys. We all know your more than capable of winning the league and going on to bigger and better things. But don't loose your rag if we don't get our way all the time.

Come on you Yellows!

shoulder's the amount of miles you put in to follow Canvey is quite an extra special effort and I belive Canvey FC are going to have a little presentation before sat's game and Jeff King is going to present you with a new set of tyres for your car (remould's of course).

Alot of the away fans (and full credit they came in large numbers) have complained about the stewards at Park Lane, my point being could Canvey FC not use that land at the seawall end and bulid a carpark on it? that might help solve the problems of traffic chaos eh?

Come on Canvey let's get back on track this weekend and give those Purfleet muppets a real tonking!!

Shoulders I agree we should not get so wound up when we loose a game or 2, As I have posted earlier today we were second best today and Gravesend deserved the points, We know we can win the league and I am sure with a little luck we will WIN THE LEAGUE.
To let you all know shoulders makes an approximate round trip of 140 miles for every home game. I dont think he has missed a Saturday fixture at home to date this season and always makes sure he is back for the Essex Derby's & Big fixtures midweek work permitting off course.
I wish he could make some more Midweek games to bloody save my phone bill giving him running commentary.
COME ON YOU YELLOW ARMY THIS IS JUST A LITTLE SET BACK SENT TO TRY US, LETS GET BEHIND OUR TEAM !!

In one evening we have sadly lost a lot - firstly,i suspect, the title and as bad, a good name.We have indeed been perceived as the Man Utd of the Ryman and the terrible manner in which the players and management took defeat is right up there with Ferguson,Wenger and O'leary in the winging stakes - we were totally outplayed by the Fleet and deserved to lose - fuul stop. Why on earth the club agreed to play the most imporrtant game of the season only 3 days after Burnley is beyond me - whatever the result there it was going to be pressure too much - by the look of Miller,Jk,Wardy etc they were knackered before it even started and bar ten mins at the start of the 2nd half we did not perform - if Cobb had put it in then maybe but to be more honest Ash alone kept us in it - the timing on the lights couldnt have looked worse and is a huge embarassment - re all the complaints on getting in the ground - well it was clearly going to be a big crowd so get there early after all its usually 7.30.

back to the game- whats worse now is the injury and suspension picture - what on earth is wrong inside your head Stimmo-we cant afford to lose you and surely the stafford debacle was enough trouble for one year-Tilly hurry up we need you-more bookings for Smith,Miller etc dont help and considering they were so blatantly trying to rough u up on the long term pic walk away or the title goes with it - the fa cup doesnt matter even the trophy this year - this s/b our year to go up and its all in danger of going wrong - i dont see the Fleet's Wimbledon style losing them many points and really its all down to Feb2 - if ever Canvey need to win thats it - lets win the match and some friend s back too -last year everyone loved us for the Trophy this year we are Man U,smashing coach windows, getting sent off and losing like 3 year olds -and thats a real shame.

Scoot -

The club do not own the ground or the surrounding areas.

I doubt if Castle Point Council (who, after all only love the club when if suits them and gives them good press)would be too pleased with us putting a car park on their designated leisure land!

Thanks for clearing that up Wilf.

lesiure land? blimey! i thought it was a 'catchment' area to stop the football's going over the sea wall! (when struck by the away team of course as our strikers never miss!) Im suprised no one from the council has thought about buliding a car park on that land and charging everyone £5 hour to park your motor on it! That would give John 'Crow's nest' whatever his name is and all the other moaning old git's something else to boo about !!

Yes it wasn't a good move playing Gravesend 3 days after Burnley - but I believe the game was arranged before we knew we were in the 3rd round of the FA Cup. It would have been nice to play it the following week (i.e. after the FA Trophy 3rd round) but Gravsend are already playing a game that week. After last season's fixture fiasco you can understand both teams wanting to play the game as soon as they had a free date. The bottom line is we lost - fair and square by all accounts - but we only lost one game, we are still top and now need to regroup and start another run of 20 odd games unbeaten ! Both Gravesend and Canvey will drop points before the season's end, and squad strength in depth will undoubtedly be a factor (how many games have we already won without what might be considered our strongest team out ?). Our unbeaten run was bound to end sometime, I'd rather it was now than in the last couple of weeks of the season, so we still have time to put things right. Let's not over-react to one defeat - in the immortal words of Corporal Jones (and Hitchhikers' Guide to the Galaxy): "Don't panic !"
