sounds a bit defeatist there jordan. despite the scoreline? sometimes fella, any scoreline is a good enough to duck the eastside.

i love the eastside - it's what me fall in love with the hornchurch. however, i do love the bar... and the hill...

the riverside is a pile of pants though. imo.

I didn't mean to be defeatist. Personally I believe we will win tommorow. I just feel we need support for the lads even if they do fall behind (which I don't think we will) and back them the whole game.

And agreed the Riverside is pants :)

lol,i know where jordan is coming from, and i know where tree is coming from,i love the eastside but i also enjoy the bar and hill and the eastside isn't the same since we all started getting on the players backs which was actually some point last season.

What got me with the whole "don't sing till they score " is that at least 3 fans walked off the eastside as they thought it was ridiculous, the previous saturday while getting stuffed 7-1 we sang throughout the game,on the way to the bar and then in the bar for a good half hour after the game,so to suddenly turn your back on the team at kick off on the next game which to be honest took alot of bollox from those players who played tuesday, was quite frankly ridiculous.I used to hate missing the kick offs because of the 50/50 but just lately it doesn't bother me as i get to the eastside after 10-15 minutes and all i hear is moaning and general p1ss taking.I don't mind people having a go at the players from time to time if they are blatently not pulling their weight or we are just generally playing crap, its our right to moan and whinge but we have had a habit for a year or so now of getting on their backs the minute it goes wrong, tuesday was a prime example,we wasn't playing that bad when i got to the eastside just after the penalty miss but the negativaty was ridiculous. It was almost like it had become a joke, well its not a joke to me,i want to follow this club as high a league as possible.Whether some of us choose to stand on the Eastside or not, when we are there we either get behind the team or not bother,if we don't bother then the wonderful spirit that the eastside used to create for matches will die,its already on its knees just waiting for the final push over, choice is ours,we either save it or let it just be another crap terrace but once that goes i doubt very much the club will be the same.

i was well up for getting behind the team whilst stood on the eastside midweek.

maybe i didn't get the memo, but whilst max was reading out our teamsheet, after every afc hx name read out, there was a "shhh" from the back of the eastside. fck knows who - i don't actually care, but the thing is the silence became deafening. after max's best efforts, as soon as the match kicked off, there was no backing for the team - no banter against the linesman, it seemed like the eastside was glad the speakers were finally switched off so they could get back to their conversations..

there used to be an atmosphere over there. a feeling of expectation - even if we were expecting to be totally raped by the other team, we would still embrace the atmosphere and let the opposition know they've played in front of the eastside. we would at least put up a fight? it just seems like whenever the team falter at the moment, then in some quarters there is almost a nod of a head saying "told you so" and a kind of malicious pleasure in being right when the team's chips are down.

apropos of nothing, i am still bewildered and gobsmacked by the recent revelation that the eastside turned on the players. poor show imo. long live the hill.

it was so fckng pointless, all it could ever of done was to dampen the spirits of the players.Luckily,it didnt but it could of and we could of lost another 3 points and been right down there.Would of put us on a bad roll for the ricay game which is always a tough affair.

As it is we won 4-0 and everyone is happier, but lets make one thing clear,it wasn't because certain fans didn't want to support the side.

when i got there and tried to sing i was told we was being quiet as a protest so i started singing,a few followed but it felt awkward. The people who organised this meaningless protest were not even at the tonbridge game (nothing agaimst those who can't get to away games but am sure this was the reasoning behind the protest not the cup defeat against brentwood otherwise this would of been mentioned earlier).
