Lennon was probably one of the biggest hypocrites the world has ever seen. He sang about imaging no possessions while Yoko Ono possessed the worlds biggest fur coat collection and he owned a fleet of Rolls Royces. This was a man who preached world peace and brotherly love while despising Paul McCartney for the heinous crime of pulling more birds than him during the Beatles early days in Hamburg, something which he never forgave Macca for. A decent songwriter yes but Richard Thompson,Elvis Costello and other brits have now built up a superior canon of songs.
