Until Club Yellow is back, if it ever will be by the way, we should encourage the fans back on here to share their opinions, banter and anything else. TGE, is there anyway you can message and rally the troops, get the old users back who left here when Club Yellow was introduced???

Me too mate, Club Yellow killed this forum off and then killed itself leaving my days at work quite dull! I can't do anything officially, but I'm sure we can have a word with a few down there and get this one going again.

In all seriousness I will do whatever I can to assist in getting banter going - you only have to ask - whatever that might be.

 

If you wish to talk on a different forum, I can sort that out as well, and provide the software etc., (but it would be a forum for Canvey Island in general, with a dedicated Gulls forum (which might also get people talking about the club that are not fans at the moment - as the forum would attract non-football residents of the island)) - this would be at zero cost to the club.

To be honest this forum was getting a bit quiet even before Club Yellow arrived and killed it off totally.

 

It does seem to have picked up a bit more recently though.

A new official site will be launced over the next 2 to 3 weeks and we plan to build in our very own forum..

 

This forum has certainly picked up of late, unlike some clubs forums!

To be fair I think facebook and club yellow combined with the way certain individuals were allowed to delete, edit and change posts on this site made it less enjoyable.

 

Four or five years ago before club officials, chairmen etc deleted posts it was great, but when it is taken away from the fans it is not really a fansforum.

 

I remember people from Romford posting on Hx forum, their comments got deleted or changed and then Hx warriors absolutly ripped the Romford supporters apart driven on by officials, that was not Banter that was bullying.

 

I think if club officials were not allowed to moderate you may get a good bit of banter back, I have seen some comments on here that as a club official I strongly dislike and feel that they are damaging the club and upsetting players, however I am glad that I cannot delete them as it is a fans right to speak freely as long as they are happy to have their words challenged, but not deleted.

 

And of course not too liablous and offensive!

You can have 2 or more tabs open nowadays though and surely more people have access to computers with better internet options than before. Lets remind them all if we can.

I agree with MOB.

 

I'm pretty certain that Glen and I have never deleted a post for someone expressing their views on anything and that's the way we like it. We have edited in the past certain posts that are just full of abuse aimed at individuals or the Club as a whole when they've crossed the line but that's it. Personally I always follow the rule of never post anything on here you wouldn't say to someone in person. Everyone doesn't agree with everything and that's the way of the World so healthy and witty debate is encouraged.

 

We're lucky to have a forum that has in the past and still can be today enjoyed by fans, players and officials of the club alike, whether it be informative or general discussion and at no cost to CIFC.

 

The banter we had with EFM/St. Albans and later on Gravesend & Northfleet is infamous!
