Marlow v Slough Town

I'm only writing this because I know the team read the forum.

Guys, you were brilliant last night.

Great performance throughtout the whole team with special mention IMO to Sonner, Sippo, Burnell and Coyne. Playing like that we will beat anyone in our division and it would have been more embarrassing for Marlow if they didn't have an oustanding keeper.

Come on you Rebels!

I didn't see last night's game. It was my baby's birthday - 17th, so not much of a baby anymore!

However, reading the thread suggests we played pretty well. Apart from wishing well done this goes a long way to explaining why there are sometimes such negative comments on here.......because we know this group of players is capable of such highs. It's bloody frustrating for us fans (and I'm sure it's the same for the players) to watch a team we know can be excellent when they don't scale those heights.

The answer guys is to keep performing to these same high standards! No pressure then!!!!

Last nights game showed that we can play top level football. I thought that the formation would be broken down easier by Marlow as we only had 3 midfielders but in actual fact i think it turned out to be a master stroke by Bateman, Logie did very well infront of the defence and they completely negated Marlows quick breaks.

Coyne did have some wayward passes in the first half (i know i shouldn't criticise) but he made up for that in the second half when he played our strikers in beautifully.

Sonner was absolutely immense last night, he never gave up on anything and played for great balls through to Sippo and Burnell.

Sippo played very well last night, holding up the ball and having the calmness to play the right pass every time. Also i think he is our calmest player in front of goal and always finds the target.

Murphy played much better last night stopping evrything down the right wing and then pushing foward and delevering some great crosses.

Perks was also very good last night, plucking every ball out of the air. Also his kicking has improved since last season.

Also the long balls over the top worked almost every time last night allowing the stikers through on goal.

Overall it was a well deserved victory and it could have been more if it wasn't for Marlows keeper (who is by far their best player).

The ref was ofcourse a complete joke though.

Mmmmm........I think Lee Mason is a very good player too, We know this from when he played for us at a higher level. Their 2 atrikers are also very dangerous, quick and busy, well suited to their counter attacking style. It's no coincidence that Marlow's away record is so good (100% until Saturday against us and still unbeaten). I thought we might have a good chance away from home against them, which proved to be correct.

The team defending (by all) was the way it should be and we should give Chippenham a good game.

Above long praising post was by Staines rebel junior and not me - I wish to state that these are not my comments and if any player is in tears after reading them that I am not responsible.

I will however make a comment about the officals, they had an even worse game than Saturday - I can hear the the complaints coming that the officials are reading the forum and they are having to be comforted by their mums and my be scared for life by these comments.

Normal service will return on Saturday where I will continue to say it how I see it.

Get those tissues ready!
