rate the ref referee

Recommended Posts

The referee had a poor game but the contest was ruined by the two linesman. They were the worst I have ever seen. Goals 2 & 4 were both several yards offside. Mr Whale is an apt name for the fat linesman! The pair of them only flagged when the attackers were onside or if it was marginal but never to disallow blatant offside goals. Crazy. The coloured linesman even had the cheek to flag a Town player offside when it had been headed back by a Bedfont player. I really hope the Middlesex FA are informed of tonights shambles because I feel I have wasted time and money on a game that was ruined due to the sheer incompetence of the officials.

Mr Burdett and his useless lino's; Gareth picer and Lloyd Wood.

Utter cr*p. They didn't even know the rules. eg A throw must be taken within 1 yard (metre) of the line; not the 4th lane of the running track.

As for the penalty decisions, I don't think either of them were correct

1/10 - don't come back

I think that with a different ref neither would have been granted. But the fouls on Danny Clarke during the match from the number 6 were vicious and I don't think he got booked once! If he gave their weak penalty he'd not have got off the pitch alive if he had ignored the one on Daniel. I give hime 4/10 for consistency

Burdett was very poor.

Couldn't even be consistant from one half to the other.

Example: he books Riley for kicking the ball away -2 yards....but then in the same half Ilfords No6 takes Clarke out from behind then kicks the ball away....not even spoken to.

He then let at least 3 bad, late challenges go unpunished in the first half.

He gave a foul against Town for feet up,then ignored an even higher challenge on a Town player 2 minutes later.

Don't you love a ref that takes immense delight in upsetting 300 people.....I think the beam of delight he had on his face at halt-time,as he recieved the 'hairdryer' treatment from the crowd, said it all.

For goodness sake, we all no that the officials in this league are poor, but why is it when you lot lose its always the officials to blame, can't you just admit that for what ever reason like the rest of us you win some you lose some! Some decisions go in your favour some don't but if you really are as good as you all think your'brilliant'football and their wonderful band of supporters should overcome.

'Why when we lose'???

The biggest complaints about the referee's have come in the last two games TWO DRAWS.

If we only complained when we lost....it would be very quiet on here....we don't lose much <img src="/images/graemlins/alk.gif" alt="" />

We didn't complain when we lost to Romford - The better team on the day. And the nicest thing is that the ref was unmemorable, which is the way it should be.

I don't think we blamed the ref when we lost to Basildon - That was because we weren't ready for the beginning of the season when we should have been!

so here is a shock for those who have rose coloured glasses, and can not understand a negative comment!

Keith Ashley, must stand head and shoulders above the other ESL refs (no joke intended) he ACTUALLY knows the rules of the game!!

Was it a pen? wasn't it a pen, from where I wasn't I couldn't tell (@ the bar)

But a well ref'd game today 8/10.

p.s. this may be a rare positive report about a ref in ESL, but it is not the first... will it be the last?

How sad for Keith Ashley, correctly identified as being better than the rest, and yet as a top level Referee's instructor how will he feel that the recognition comes from an individual that continues to refer to "rules" there are no rules in football just laws, ask Keith Ashley.

Regarding Mr Ashley,I'll give him 7/10 for his performance.

Loses a point for seeming to take an instant dislike to Ian Cooper.

Loses a point for giving a very soft penalty.(The players from both sides looked bewildered by the discision.)

And loses a point for the 'comedy' knee's up running style.

But overall a big improvement on previous ref's,especially the two we had against concord and Ilford. And actually seems to know the LAWS of the game.

Come on my bruffer in law cud do with Cooper in his squad, he's a swimmin coach, and he loves folks who can dive!

Seriously becos he is "light weight" he does get knocked over easily, and refs do not always see this as a foul. I reckon 7/10 times they are fouls; but he needs to get some muscle. If it was Billy The Cat, the defenders would bounce off him!

As for KA running action; I had one o my neighbours and his 12 year old son with me; first thing the kid says is " look how the ref runs" yeah very funny; but he is still streets ahead of the other muppets that turn up and call themselves "officals"

With the ammount of stick leveled a Cooper recently, i can only assume that he must be rubbing a lot of people up the wrong way, personality wise.

Because his performances ON the pitch certainly don't warrant the level of criticism he's recieving.

I don't hang around in the bar after games....So my judgement on players solely relies on what they do on the pitch .
