I think the crys after the score went 2 - 2 of come back Pat all is forgiven, and Pat for Ref were a bit excessive though, as much as I love the Madman of the mike!

Well I liked Mr Eglington and his assistants at Sawbo but I'm sure the Sawbo boys might not be so pleasant.

 

It feels like a first that the decisions went for us on this occasion. Most of the time it feels like they go against us!

Thought the ref was fine; he was put in a difficult situation by the lino; but at least he knew he had lino's.

I though the lino was correct for the original penalty offence - I had opened my mouth to voice that opinion (as one does) when he waved his flag with gusto.

 

I'm not sure why the kick was retaken: someone said the keeper was off his line, others say it was for encroachment, and someone thought there was a second offence in that Cooper was brought down in the melee. Any one got a definitive view?

 

Overall I though the ref had a good game, although there were a couple of howlers, throws going the wrong way. Weren't there, Matty???

 

But overall I thought the score was about right. We gifted them their two goals with really stupid schoolboy errors. Often though it takes a bit of luck to turn things round: this could be the turning point of our season, especially with the arrival of Cooper and Smith (are you getting the idea that I like them?) who add so much more to our game.

 

Now, get Chopper to ditch those orange socks and the defence will improve.

 

Burgers were ok, good size, bit dry and bland, service cheery but very slow. I always like going to Sawbo. I think Cyclops does too! <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

My theory is,he stands out to much in his luminous outfit,thus giving opposing strikers an easier chance of spotting his positioning,in split second situations.

He obviouasly got a new whistle for his birthday, and was determined to have fun with it; never mind the players or spectators.

 

If he would only let the game run he'd be quite good.

By the way the referee for the EFC game is an old friend of ours, Mr Alfie Street.

Kevin Curran - was ref @ ETFC v Brentwood. good ref, let the game flow, seemed to enjoy himself ( but could never see a handball!)

Yes I liked Kevin who applauded the Brentwood Keeper and Lee Smith for the shots and saves in the second half.

 

Rarely saw a free kick in our favour though.

Kreyling is the worst of a bad lot this season, Iheard he actually booked a basildon player after a match without telling him, when the report was read out it said that the player had done a schoolboy handshake, put his thumb to his nose and wiggled his fingers, how sad, after the way he had handled the match he was lucky anyone had a sense of humour!

1/10 for losing it with a town fan and asking to meet him in the bar afterwards and some poor deicsion.

 

No complaints however about the sending off of Bradley Quinn who lost town a probable 3 points (despite the poor refereeing).
