Sutton United hopping mad with report

This on Twitter earlier:

@margate_fc Not very happy with the phrase 'wildly overestimated bumper crowd of 1200'. We know the attendance as we have physical tickets! from @WillObeney

and @margate_fc "wildy over estimated" - interesting wording for an official report! from @suttonunited

In fairness, I'd react to that too so have edited the offending sentence. I should have picked it up at the time so chalk that one up to me.

I wouldn't dispute their attendance claims, the section on their main stand adopted for the day as the 'Community Stand' was full of young families an hour before the match started. The Community police were orchestrating the pre-match entertainment well - even supplying the kids with 'kazoo' like noise makers.

However when the game started the kids were not as noisy as they were pre-match. At half time probably half the families had disappeared from the stands ... I guess 3 hours sitting down was too much for them.

Still, it was a good initiative by Sutton and certainly swelled the coffers in the refreshment bars.

Indeed it was included in jest to wind Wellsie up! Apologies for any unintended offence and wont rely on the proof reading in future!

Too subtle for me clearly!

A lot of the kids simply weren't interested in goings on on the pitch and preferred pi**ing us all off by running around, making too much noise!!

Clever ploy from a club who's average gate attendance is probably half ours....

As has been said before, we could learn from that!! :97:
