Slough Town 2-2 Marlow

i would much rather us have problems to sort out this early in the season rather than the business end of the season. we are in touch with the league leaders and quite frankly not progressing in the cups don't make or break your season.

with the saves Marlow keeper made yesterday we could have easily won that game. wasn't like we only had 2 chances and scored 2.

the only real problem that needs work is the poor defending mistakes. pressure on our defence triggers the long ball most the time. we do still need a plan b to cope when we are pressured and are given limited room. hitting the long balls behind the defence rather than short would be a start if we are to properly exploit hoofball now and then

It is not an either/or situation. With issues this early in the season, there is no reason to suppose that other issues cannot arise later in the season as well. The problem with forwards not scoring looks as if it might well be on its way to being resolved, that mainly leaves the leaky defence to sort out (though our crossing needs to improve too). I'm sure we all want a good, successful side, but what we currently have, though it clearly has the potential, isn't the finished product.

Yes, I agree the team have great potential but as supporters we must realise that turning potential into a winning organised team does not happen overnight. We need to look at the big picture as many of these players are pretty new to the club so we have not gelled yet. It will come though I believe as we have some quality players and made some excellent signings.

If you look in the past season we've lost the following what I would say 'top' players from the football club:

- Elliot Buchannan

- Adam Martin

- Nathan Bowden-Haase

- Graeme Edwards

- Mo Sharif

Now these players have either gone on to play at a higher level or in Graeme Edwards case forced to leave the game for the time-being. Nowt we could have done about any of them leaving either. If you look at Hitchin's squad last year the only 'top' player they have lost in the last season was Harry Hunt to Arlesey, they have kept all the others. Same with Marlow. We needed to keep these players and add to them, but that was not possible.

Were just 11 games into the season and less than a month ago we best Biggleswade 5-1 away from home and everything was good. It's ganna be a bit up-and-down in the early stages, but it was always going to be as the new players get use to our system, useto playing with the other guys and become accustomed to the way we play. That won't just happen after 11 games.

Understand there may be a couple in this week and maybe one (or more) going out, so could be interesting times ahead.

exactly Chris fair play you keep the situation in check with reality well with that last post.

we have no right to think we should instantly be playing incredibly well every week. yes we have some very good players but as said quite a few are new to the club

at the end of last season the main 2 players for us were Buchanan and Adam Martin and losing them was a big blow but we have done alright to replace them

i would be much much more worried if we were sitting here with a mid to lower placing in the league but we are only 4 points off the top

a few players do need a kick up the backside at the moment though and to realise they must work hard to achieve what we want to. a few changes here and there should help strengthen our weaknesses

hopefully the fans can get behind the guys from the start tomorrow and show them we believe in them. i'd imagine confidence is on the up again after Saturday slightly. Logie especially seemed to be geeing up the lads and pushing us on. personally i saw a better attitude by us 2nd half compared to previous home games. belief that we could get back into it
