Not a bad performance from Bookham 3 soft give away goal, with the ref bottling a Bookham pen appeal then giving herne Bay one when 5 yards out of the box !!!! 2 quick goals just before half time to make it 3 nil killed the game off, Bookham hit post & cross bar and had a couple of good chances but no luck. Matched the visitors for long periods and plenty to take from the game

 

Pleasent team Herne Bay and good luck to them in the next round, we can now concentrate on the league

No hangover for our lads, 4-1 win away at ash.

Scorers were Dan simmonds, New signing and James Mepham 2.

AND.......we had a free kick in the last miniute which we scored from, ref blows his whistle for full time so all the players are walking off. THEN....calls the players back restarts the game, disallowed the goal and then made our lad take the free kick again. very strange.

Scorers Pomroy and Grave

 

Not a classic but Egham looked much more solid with the addition of Chris Ellis at centre back. He is one big unit and has a decent Delap on him too. Molesey looked the better side for most of the first half until Andy Graves of Molesey and Matt Grave of Egham came together in pursuit of the ball, and Graves was deemed by the ref (and, at length, after the match, by the former Egham defender himself) to have got just enough of the ball not to warrant more than his yellow card. John Pomroy put an end to any rows with a fabulous wallop of a free kick for a 1-0 half time lead. Molesely did not seem to have a lot of goal threat and were left to rue Ian Lishmund's miss from a good opening early in the second half when Grave slammed a shot under Colin Harris after 73 minutes.

We were poor all day to be fair. 2 down early doors but came into it and scored just on half time as their keeper dropped one in.

 

Second half we equalised but wrongly give offside. Sports added 2 quick goals with 10 to go before we poured forward and hit the bar twice before conceeding in injury time on the break. We went upfield and scored on the whistle .

Thanks for showing that you have a sense of humour. Sadly Lord, it was in the wrong direction today. Maybe had you granted one or two Croydon players the ability to pass the ball, head the ball or in general get in the way of the ball, the scoreline would not have flattered Beckenham.

Seriously, we were not good enough. On the day we failed to get ourselves sorted and ended up losing. A better score would have been 4-3, but the score flattered them. The officals were quite good, just one mistake in the first half when a high bad tackle should have received a red only got a yellow. But hey that's football.

 

Good luck to the CCL teams in the next round.

Badshot Lea 4 v 0 Epsom and Ewell, Not a rout as the score would suggest but Badshot are a tidy side,who play Football the proper way,and are definite Championship contenders.Badshot took the lead through Hammond,who was given to much space wide right,cut inside and fired past Borg giving him no chance.Epsom had chances in what was a very entertaining first half,end to end football.The Referee Mr.Choi had very little to do,in a very sporting encounter.The second half started with Badshot pressing hard,but then the turning point in the game, Epsoms Rodrigues was adjudged to have fouled Agyeman in the box,never a Penalty in a million years Mr Choi,from my view closer than yours.Rodrigues received yellow not for the foul,but contesting the decision,Reive also received yellow for the same,and should of received red for further utterances to Mr.Choi.3 minutes later Blake hit the ball to Borgs left hand but the power of the shot saw Badshot 2 up. Then the goal of the game,some great passing football from defence touched 4 players,the ball was swung in and Westell rose to power a header from 8 yds out past the helpless Borg,even I clapped this Goal.Agyeman added a 4th with a cool Finish.So Mr Choi,I gave you 10/10 2 weeks ago,but you did a classic bottle job today,you gave a Penalty that was not,but failed to send off an Epsom player as a concellation prize for your mistake.It did not even it up,it spoilt a very entertaining game.Marks 3/10 Best of Luck Badshot for the rest of the season.

Fisher 1-3 Warlingham

 

FANATSTIC result for Warlingham and I have to say yet again it was fully deserved. Fisher had the opening 10 mins of first half but created very little and their possesion was waisted. We started to see more of the ball and dominated all over the park 15 mins in we go 1-0 up and from that moment on I knew we were going to win. We played some neat, tidy and effective football and made it 2-0 on 30 mins. A shell shocked Fisher team and bench knew they were in a fight then. Half time 2-0 up and cruising. Second half Fisher came at us and had the better on the opening 15 mins but we rode the storm well and for all Fisher possesion in was in poor areas and created no chance.With 20 to go they pull one back and you think they could now go on and equalise but no we dug in again got back on top and made it 3-1 on 81 mins. A fantastic day for all involved at Warlingham FC. I thought years ago whhen I won the league with Coney Hall we had a fantsttic team there but for sheer work rate effort and total dtermination this Warlingham side are right up there. A great effort by all the team and look forward to a decnt draw on Monday. One very proud and happy manager!
