I would like to wish Fizzer the best of luck at Godalming Town. I have a lot of respect for him becuase he is someone who is very considered in his job and when patrolling the Technical area. I personally think he will be missed in the CCL and hope he does a great job and continues to climb the tree. Good Luck mate.

Can't comment on Fleet Spurs but there are one or two who could step up a level from Sandhurst.

The Standard in the Ryman 1 South is not what it used to be.Plenty of players in C.C.L. could step up if they wanted too,even Johnno at the ripe old age of 33,and that is not a dig.He has the ability,fitness,and commitment that many Rymans side lack.

Colonel is the captain although currently injured. He has been with Sandhurst since he was 16. Perhaps approaching 29 he may fancy a change. I agree he is one of the ones who could make the step up if he wanted to.

 

It is a massive jump in commitment levels going from CCL to Ryman/Doc Martens

Asked Meps on Tuesday if he wanted to join Cove again this season, and then leave to go back to Sandhurst and then to join us again the following season, and then go back to Sandhurst.

 

He loves a little nibble!

All the best to Jon and Neil you both deserve a crack at the next level. Jon worked wonders for us with no resources.

 

Regarding players, meps has played in the ryman before and can easily again, same with the likes of colonel.

 

Big local derby for us tomorrow away at ash, hope there is no hangover!!

Thank you to those who posted for the kind words.

 

I have to say I am genuinely gutted to be leaving the lads at Sandhurst who I hold in the highest regard and who have been a pleasure to manage. My aim this season was to make Sandhurst a top 6 club and I believe the squad is good enough to achieve that goal but these chances don't come along every 5 minutes and from that point of view it was a no-brainer.....although I still had a few sleepless nights this week before making my decision to leave!

 

I feel very lucky to have been given the chance (along with my best mate) to manage in the Ryman league as I know some strong candidates went for the job but at the same time I believe I am ready for that challenge and I can't wait to get started. Some people on here have quite rightly pointed out that there is a certain amount of turmoil at the club but having met the players last night we believe that a good number will stay and we have already identified a number of players who we would like to approach........obviously in the correct manner with '7 dayers' before anyone says anything!!

 

I have loved managing Sandhurst in the CCL and there are some great people in the league who I have an awful lot of time for including a great number of the people on here. Until I no doubt bump in to some of you in the future all the best to everyone.
