James Rowe Leaves The Gulls

I thought he was class and just forming a really good partnership with Big D, never mind :(

Can't say I'm too surprised to be honest. He hasn't looked that interested over the past few games and he's probably knackered after making the round trip, especially after working for Birmingham City and then training with us.

I see on the Official site that we're actively seeking a new Striker. Well with Rowe gone I imagine that frees up a fair wedge of the wage budget and we already have Heale, Hallett, J. Curran and Skidmore contending for the Strikers' roles, plus Leon and Rhodes if needs be and when fit Danny Curran to come back into the side.

No doubt Rowey is a class player and inevitably if he continued his form, we were going to lose him and he was going to make that step up. Surprised he didn't get a move during the summer.

Noticed on his Facebook last week that he was working for Birmingham City so not surprised by this news.

Good luck to him in his future footballing career.

No doubt was a player playing at a few levels lower than his ability , but as a club we only scored 57 goals last season, a third of which was scored by rowe, i think by the end of this season we would have scored more without rowe and the others have shown that with effort and confidence he shouldnt be a great loss as the bury match proved.

I see that Rowey has scored 11 goals from 17 starts and 4 sub appearances for Leamington, and has hit 8 in his last 10 matches. Such a shame we weren't able to get one more season out of him.

In my mind and i have said it before if he had stayed we would of i believe been challenging for the title or at least well in the play offs we are a 20 a season goalscorer away from having a complete team and games like the concord game i think would of have been won.

I wouldn't disagree with you there haynab66, a consistently clinical finisher would in my mind put us in the playoffs this season (not that we might not achieve that anyway).

Rowey was a great player and it was a huge loss when he relocated to the Midlands due to work.

Play off chances are still very much in our hands, we have a couple of games in hand which will be key!

Pleanty of twists and turns will happen before the end of the season
