A much changed team from Monday, saw Ursuline attack from the first whistle. they piled on the pressure, shot cleared right, Hickman shot left, and a corner from the left plucked out of the air by the home keeper.

 

The next spell came from the home side. A free kick given away just outside the right corner of the box. The ball powered over the wall and was to strong for Dudley to palm over. 1-0.

 

Ursuline's next move come from a free kick by the edge of their own box. Wicks saw Uden in space played a long ball, Uden took the ball into the box but, failed to put the ball past the excellent home keeper.

 

Sir Josephs next chance was again a free kick this time in the semi circle at the edge of the Ursuline box. Result, a near perfect curling free kick over the wall and dipping into the left hand corner.2-0.

 

The away team with nothing to loose piled on the pressure and tried to play foot ball on a pitch that was rough and had a slope of more than a meter from the centre spot to the side line and against some very physical play. A free kick cleared, a cross from Wells to Menga saved and a solid run into the left corner by potter, cross in not met, cleared only as far as Joe Hickman who's shot was over.

 

Sir Josephs came back into it, charging down the Ursuline right ball put out for a throw in by the edge of the box. The resulting Lacey type ball in cleared every one, Dudley left it alone as it entered the net. Goal kick.

 

Ursuline again pushed them back Free kick, good passing, ball into left corner a couple of 1-2's and the ball was crossed in, again saved by Keeper. Menga chanced a chip, just over.

 

What followed next was a period of end to end attacks without really bothering either keeper. Eventually Ursuline's Menga crossed in a corner which was met by Drury pulling out another good save from their keeper.

Loads of action Followed Some of the tackles on our boys made Curtis Robinson's sending off tackles look like the work of a Choir boy. Through this the Ursuline boys kept at it, menga in action again with a 25 yarder just wide,Drury's ball in from left again met by Menga, saved. potter cross to Menga, shot saved. A good series of passes saw the ball slice the home defence for Wells to put in. 2-1.

 

Again it was end to end.Alexander shot saved, Potter cross, saved. Potter was through only to be brought down, Free kick and Menga got his reward. 2-2. Half time.

 

To sum up the Half it was a battle of attrition. a battle between the physical and the Skillful.

 

From kick off Ursuline went onto the attack again.Uden shot just wide. Johnson shot just over.

 

It took 10 minutes for the home team to get much more than 10 yds into the Ursuline half. Jordan Wells walked off with a bad case of studs down the calf. lucky boy. Arnold Murrage came on.

 

Sir Josephs finally got into the away half but to no avail. Ursuline were awarded a free kick which found Potter who out stripped the home defence to get to the bye line, cross in Wicks shot saved.

Wicks picked up the clearance to see his effort go wide. Uden into the box, road a tackle to see his shot wide.The home side charged forward, to see arguable their first real chance of the half hit the net. 3-2.

 

Ursuline manager Tom Hickman made another change, English off Peachy on.

 

Ursuline pushed forward, winning a corner. The resulting clearance was met by Hickman who drove the ball into the net. 3-3. NO it was given offside even though Sir Josephs had a man on the line. Still 3-2.

 

The lads got over the disappointment and continued to press,cross from the left found wicks who's shot from 20 yds was pushed around. The clearance from the corner found Murrage who put the ball in the net. No doubts this time 3-3.

 

Sir Josephs won a corner, this was cleared out to Potter who again ran the length of their half, before putting the ball in for Alexander.

 

The home side had the best chance of the Half. With Ursuline piling forward they were caught out by 3 to 1 as Sir Josephs broke forward. dudly charged out , when the ball came in low he threw himself to his right and pushed the ball out wide for a corner. the result being the ball being put behind for a goal kick. Ursuline's next move saw a throw in from the right by the edge of the area. The ball was met by Marcus Potters head, 3-4.

 

Ursuline continued to push forward, with a few minutes to go Uden recieved the ball 15 yds into Sir Josephs area, looked up saw the keeper of his line and lobbed the ball high over his head and under the bar 3-5.

 

Today the lads met all sorts of demons, They skilfully came out on top in what can only be desribed as a battle of skill over strength.

 

Ursuline are top of the league 5 wins out of 5 with a GD of +14. Well done lads.
