Far be it for me to say but........

Just an observation from a occasional attendee, I have noticed that the Urchins are lacking in confidence in a big way. Observing Saturday's FAC match v Brentwood one thing above all stood out as the reason. Yes, the referee and linesmen appeared to make some apparently strange decisions but I will mention that the Hornchurch bench was particularly in the second half when we run out of ideas decided that the best tactic was to constantly screem at the referee and nearside assistant referee, rather than looking at ways of changing the formation or taking the game to our opponents. I wonder whether lack of confidence and ideas from the bench is rubbing off onto the players.

Unless something is changed we can expect more performance and results, and a return to Division One, dont bet against it!

Sorry, but true. Times are hard and nine quid plus programme, burger and pint x 2 home games per month = Sky Sports. 50% loss in attendance and disatisfaction from the core supporters, not good. May I suggest that the Supporters club call a meeting with the team and management to air views???

Tell me to shut up if Im wrong.

To be honest,i can understand your frustrations but i think that the supporters association getting involved in team affairs would be wrong.

We all have our opinions but as an association we must focus on non footballing matters like raising funds for the club, however strange it may sound, the footballing side of things is of little relevance compared to fundraising and supporting the club in general.

Saying all that,if enough people were that unhappy then maybe the club itself would want to do something like that.

Personally, although performances have on the whole been below par i don't think its that bad yet, maybe because of the shock of last nights result and the loss of revenue it has been highlighted, but i can assure you that no one will be feeling it harder than colin, jimmy, ken, tony et al

Fair comment. I did say at the start of the season that the fixture list gave us a tough start and this has been evident. Having said that I also said that the Urchins were 14/1 bet fot the title, so what do I know. Results aside I think I speak for most when its entertianment that we turn up for. When we were in the Essex Senior League particularly the football and all round atmosphere was a joy (admittedly we were winning). But the point is let's lose 4-3 than 1-0 with no shots on goal!

Can someone please explain why the bench give the officials so much grief? The poor old lino on the Riverside should be issued with a tin hat as well as a flag! Officials rarely, if ever, alter their decisions and expending all that energy in pointless abuse must divert attention away from the game. The occasional outburst is only human but the 90 minute tirades we have recently experienced are embarrassing in front of visiting supporters.

Interesting to hear the idea of a meeting with fans being touted. At Dagenham this is now done twice a year. The Manager, Chairman and Chief Exec host an open meeting with any supporters who want to go (members of the SC or not) and they answer prettymuch all questions they are asked, within reason and as honestly as they can. The manager obviously answers the football ones while the Chairman and Chief Exec answer those about any off the field issues. I have been to two of them, although I missed the last one which was a few weeks back.

I know Essex CCC also host a similar meeting with all members (ie season ticket holders) at the end of each season. I believe this is taking place next week, so maybe you have a fan who is also an Essex member so could see how this worked??

I don't know a great deal about the ins and outs at Hornchurch, but I have met Colin a few times at the darts matches and he is a good bloke and I am sure would answer any questions from fansd honestly and openly.

we have had fans/club meetings before and i totally back them,on this occasion though i don't feel that a meeting would neccesarily be good as we are only a month into the season and however bad we all think it is,football can suddenly change completely and we could win our next 3 games with the strikers banging in goals from all angles. If the situation got that bad by the end of november then maybe think about it but i don't think we are too far away from being a decent side and lets face it,however bad some performances are, there are worse teams in this league than us

This has been going on for quite a few years Sidney, I sit in the Riverside most of the time and the constant abuse the linesman and referee get from the bench and from certain supporters in the stand is embarrasing and so biased it's untrue, Uncle Urchin and a couple of his cronnies were the worst and most blinkered but thankfully they're not there any-more although the abuse from certain parties still continues, it seems that these people are more concerned with the performance of the officials than they are of the team.

I agree that we don't look comfortable at the moment and we are short of ideas. I personally don't rate the strikers at the moment (except Lewis Smith). I would like to see some more youth players personally like Frankie Williams. Maybe they will have more hunger

think we are short on confidence big time

tuohy,proven scorer

flack,proven scorer

wall, not prolific for us but in capital league bangs them in,still young,i like him

smith,good player,needs more games

frankie williams, you know how i feel about this kid after watching him quite alot, natural goalscorer, but still very very young and not sure if he will be able to compete against many ryman prem defenders, but he is quick and knows where the goal is and anyone who has seen him play knows he can play in midfield and create
