The perfect squad ?

i guess one of the games us armchair managers play is to think how the team /squad could be strengthend.

(no matter which team you follow-from Margate to that dreadful premiership stuff )

Always possible to improve of course, but i look at the squad as now assembled by IOC and it seems to me really welll balanced with cover in all positions, and reasonable quality within alll postions.

Certainly good enough for Ryman mid table-which was all my realistic expectations were for this season-although lookijng at it now-i do think on paper it is a top 8 squad if IOC and JK can galvanise it to achieve what it is capable of (trott could'nt in similar circumstances).

I can't remember anytime in the last 6 years ever thinking that the squad has no obvious weak links;and it seems to me ,that if it can be kept together there is no real need for anymore additions between now and season end.

More than anything-IOC and JK should imo be congratulated for assembling the 'perfect squad' at a relatively early stage;and the Board for supporting them accordingly.

Long may it continue and of course manifesting itself in wins by the players

I must say we have come a long way in 12 months, better manager, better squad, fantastic commercial business, and lots of positivety all round, long may it last and lets hope our better results prompt more people to come throught the turnstiles.

Agreed-and in particular-the foundations as being put in place on the commercial side-underpin the rest of it.

We won't win every game-mores the pity-and will probably have a few bad runs-but at least we can hopefully enjoy the ride from now on

maybe a blessing in disguise being knocked out of the cup even though i would have loved a little bit more than we had but this gives us the spring board now to push on for a desent league position whilst the teams that are around us in the league and still in the cup have the pressures of competing for to things . Maybe our cup run could be FA trophy but a good league finish is the best we can go for this season and then push on next yr . Up the Gate .

correct me if wrong but we got 3K for the first win and if we had one the other night it would only have been an extra £1500?

You are wrong Tom it was an additional £4,500 if we had won.

But het onwards & upwards we are going to win the trophy & best of all the Kent Senior Cup.
