Sandhurst Town 3 v 3 Cove. Couldn't be bothered to stay for ET. Cove 2 up in 1st half with 2 great breakaways. Sandhurst get one back before half time. They then equalise early in 2nd half and look like they wil go on to win. Yet another breakawy saw Cove go 3-2 up. I think it was the strikers hat trick and he looks a real handful. Sandhurst equalised in the last minute. Plenty of Forumites to fill in about ET.

Badshot Lea 3-0 Egham

Wembley 0-0 Molesey

There is a thread started today by Smudge about Molesey's vastly contrasting results home and away, made more relevant by the fact that we won 4-0 at Wembley and face Molesey at home in the Vase on Saturday . We tend not to bother with such nonsense; we can be both good and bad, home or away, frequently in the same match. Tonight at Badshot Lea we were crap. 0-1 5 minutes. 0-2 7 minutes. Clear handballi in the BL area early in the second half not given. Matt Grave shot cleared off the line late on, and finally 0-3 in the dying seconds. In between this we kept passing to men in burgundy, when we were playing in blue, and in particular to the No 8. Home keeper barely tested and when Pommers hit a free kick on target the excellent save the keeper admitted he made was rewarded with a goal kick. This is the result and performance I admit I feared; it's all well and good stuffing Dorking and an out of sorts Ash, but we have got to be able to match the sides near the top to have any chance of staying in the top 6. Also missed Tom Martin again and Wayne Noad in defence.

Lammas 1-2 Ashford town

A game we shud of won, played really well 2nite and went up from George Baldock, Ashford equalised threw ex Bradford striker Isiah Rankin, great player, very clever. Then they took the lead in the second half, we had chances to equalise but didnt take our chances, just the way our luck is at the moment but on the plus side we held our own against a good side!!!

Was it that bad Kroons?!!

As someone else said it finished 5-3 to Sandhurst after extra time. Wasn't happy with our first half performance (too many unforced errors) and we were caught on the break twice which was disappointing. Got the equaliser soon after half time and then thought we were much the better team after that but didn't take our chances and were undone by another ball over the top which we failed to deal with. I thought we deserved to draw level but when it comes from a 90th minute OG you have to say we were a bit lucky.

In extra time I felt we edged it and seemed to finish stronger and was happy to get the win I thought our attacking play deserved.

Always tough to play Cove whatever the competition and pleased to progress although we have another tough one at Molesey next. Good luck to Koo and his lads in the Vase on Saturday.

Gotta say that the attitude from some the Cove players, including me, last night was pretty awful.

If our ressies didnt have a game of their own last night it would have been a reserve fixture for us but Koo's hands were tired meaning he had to use our 1st team. 5 that started Saturday didnt feature last night due to injuries or being rested with Saturday in mind. We didnt take the game as seriously as we should have done and when it went to extra time i think that many of us were not prepared to put in an extra shift. Hence why we got beat convincingly in extra time!

Sandhurst played some really neat football but were poor at the back. Our heads went down when with a minute to go scored an own goal to take it to extra time.

Have been given Thursday off to rest and prepare for the Vase on Saturday!

Good game for the neutral but on reflection glad we're out of the cup. Was nice to win it 2 seasons ago but its actually a headache having to squeeze these games in. The final 2 years ago was mid May.

Best of luck to Sandhurst and we look forward to our away league fixture with them. Hopefully the pitch will be in just as good condition as last night!

Bad lea 3 Egham 0

Went into last nights game full of confidence. Had won 5 on the bounce and knew if we won we would go second one point of top !

The main concern i had was Wayne Noad choosing to retire on Monday night and pull out of the game . (will never work that one out ?)

Apart from that i felt we could get a win from this fixture.

How different i felt ninety minutes later !

After a dreadfull start we were 2-0 down after 10 minutes and never recovered. (could have been more)

Unfotunately at least 8/9 players choose to have their worst agme of the year and sucseeded in doing so.

For the majority of the game we were awfull and could not string 2 passes together.

However i always felt if we pulled it back to 2-1 we might nick a point.

Alas this never happened and we conceded a late goal which summed the whole performance up.

Extremly dissapointed with our display.

However credit to Bad Lea who were excellent and the best side i have seen this year. (think we made them look even better with our inept performance)

They will definatley challenge this year and i am suprised they dont have more points.

Officials: Although we were well beaten and there were no major decisions that affected the game i thought the referee was so biased it was ridiculous.

I dont like to use the phrase "homer" but if the cap fits ?

When i see an official greeting the Bad Lea tea lady with a kiss and referring to bad lea players by first names it doesnt sit well and i believe he opens himself up for critisisim.

He was far to familiar with the club and players as was the linesman our side

I dont think we got a decision all night !

Not sour grapes just the truth.

This game can drive you mad sometimes and like all other losing managers the feeling after is the loneliest in football (and a [censored] nights sleep)

Must bounce back Saturday

Steve

ps: can't believe Sarnie supporter hasn't posted anything yet !

Also good to hear Duncs dulcet tones in the evening night ;)

Didn't realise the language had been that bad Kroons.....mind you having to watch talented players giving the ball away needlessly time and again for 45 mins on a nice pitch would test the patience of a saint! It's hard work being a manager at time.....at this rate I will be bald by the time I'm 40......
