Gibbo's Programme Notes

Recommended Posts

I was surprised the article didn't appear in Tuesday's programme. This is the kind of response that Gibbo usually flies into without thinking beforehand. So given the fact that he had time to "think" before writing it, I'm surprised it didn't mention the abusive language he and his fellow director used openly at you and the Voice at the start of the second half. That was far more damaging to the club's image as there were families in the stand, and although probably out of earshot, the cheerleaders were around too.

Anyway, what impression does this kind of programme article make on away supporters or the parents of the "kids-for-a-quid" who come to the game?

Well, it seems Thornsy and I are on our last chance. Any more 'trouble' (and I'm still baffled by what the hell I am meant to have done wrong over the last 18 months) and we'll receive a "total ban".

What that means, I am not sure. Presumably I could only be banned from Clarence Park which, let's face it, is no big loss. It's the boozy away trips I look forward to.

I feel that the reason I have upset Gibson is more to do with me standing by my mates than anything I have actually done wrong myself. I have made myself a target because I had the balls to question him (as did GHA) about his treatment of Thorns and Costello at last year's Christmas party.

Here it is

One sour note and that is, once again, I am disappointed by the drunken behaviour of some of our immature, though not so young, supporters. The Carshalton game was a total embarrassment with two nameless idiots virtually intimidating some young cheerleaders. They prehaps thought they were hilarious but the young girls, as you would expect, did not appear to think so and neither did I, or our vice-chairman. May I, therefore , say this once and once only, I am involved with St.Albans City because I love football and these people are seriously impairing that enjoyment. I do ot, therefore, want any more apoligies as they are worthless but I can assure you that any other misbehaviour will result in a total ban. I will be the arbitrator and will not discuss the matter further

Judge " so would you say you were intimidated"

Person "virtually"

Hi LMU.

The Chairman has made his position as clear as he's going to from those programme notes, although he might have tried "arbiter" for "arbitrator".

In the light of the news from Canvey Island over the past few days, it would be as well for those concerned to keep a distance from the boardroom for a while. As I said on another posting on this subject last week, Clarence Park is big enough.

A) I know I've done nothing wrong.

B) If I (or Thornsy) were to be banned, I am fairly confident that 80% of EFM would back me up by refusing to go to home games. Although this is probably what Gibbo wants.

C) I would not particularly care if I was banned from home games. As I said previously, it's the away games that I enjoy.

D) If I decided that I DID care that I was banned, I would take my appeal to the highest of levels. I would go to every newspaper in the district and I would write to the Ryman League.

E) I'm bored of this.
