ETFC v Worthing

Scoreline

Recommended Posts

Won 1-0.

Not the most convincing performance against an apparently weakened (bizarrely) Worthing side. Hey ho.

Third Qualifying Round for the first time in our history then!

Well done Steve & Co.

Apart from a few break-a-way runs it was all one one in the 2nd half and dominated by Worthing.

Having said that, you need to score to be in the tie and Worthing could not get thro the Town defence.

Hard fought, but great win for Town ( and another clean sheet ) and into the draw Monday.

Great to see Kirby score after the ribbing he got from the Worthing faithfull.

Good to get through this tricky game but why, oh why, did we want to punt the ball down the field when we scored from a corner when the ball was played on the ground? We looked very effective with Denis running at their defence and he is the player who was my MOM.

All I am thinking of now is Enfield Town at Anfield. If Northampton can beat them, then so can we.

I just want a decent little away trip for the next round on a Saturday.

Still sad that I missed the game but Well done to the team for beating Worthing.

Good luck in next round. You've no idea how angry I and the rest of us are about the side we fielded today.

Cheers to those who consoled some gutted Rebels on the bus too.

It was nice to meet all your guys that came in the shop, a good bunch.

All the best for the rest of the season.

Nice people who came in the Boardroom too :futbolbud2:

Kirby and Gio are proving to be a great central partnership

Worthing: A proper club with proper fans.

PS..Forgetting to open the field car park until just 20 minutes before the game caused plenty of hassle for those who travelled to the game by car.

Thanx for the warm welcome and good luck for the future, maybe you can tell us why we dropped 3 strikers for the game

Very angry WFC exiles

I don't think anyone would have forgotten to open the car park. I believe it was because those working on the day were probably very busy.

Anyway, you followed me into the car park at 2.40pm!

Cheers mate, same to you. You were all very welcoming and I'm sure I'll see you again this season at Brimsdown and definately at the Donkey Dome next season!

Shame not to have seen you Arkwright, I've heard about your policies about giving change....or not!! Sadly probably wasn't sober enough to make much sense!!

Good luck against Boreham Wood. A dreadful draw, I know, but hopefully you can do yourselves proud (bet Blackburne will be fired up after he left them!!)

Good luck to you, the PROPER Enfield for the season.

Was phoned on route to be told car park was not open.As such had to park a fair distance away from the ground and walk.Only to be txt halfway through my walk to the ground and informed that the car park had belatedly been opened (after someone had told a suprised Town official that the gates were shut) .So walked back to car and then drove into the empty carpark behind yourself 15 minutes before the start of the game.

The Downs Car Park was open earlier on in the Day when we first arrived, but the Archery People obviously locked it when they left.:wall:
