yeah maybe a bit but we were punished for not taking our chances when we took the lead - Molesey created more chances overall and probaby deserved to win the game.

As for being dropped no idea!! :(

Out in Ibiza at mo but word reaches me that we hammered cobham 6-1. Sounds like everything we touched flew in. Prob similar to when they did the same to us last season. 6 different scorers too. To cap it off our reserves won 2-0 at warlingham in the cup. After a difficult couple of seasons things deffo seem to be on the up.

Btw tucks I hope you didn't tell the chobham management just how great you thought they were. I can see the woking news and mail headline now

DFC REPORT:

Dorking played Egham Town for the second time in a week on Saturday as Chicks entertained Egham in the return league fixture after last week’s away game had been brought forward from January. Once more Egham ran out with a win by a three goal margin, although Dorking manager Pete Buckland will rightly feel that Dorking can count themselves a tad unlucky not to have taken something from the game.

Buckland had moved midweek to sign on centre back Joe Chandler and striker Matt Evans and Chandler was given an immediate debut in the heart of the Dorking defence alongside Sam Sawyers in the absence of captain John Tyler who missed the game with a deadlock. In an encouraging debut, Chandler looked assured throughout the game before seeing his debut cut short when receiving a straight red card 20 minutes from time.

There was little to choose between the sides in the opening period, Dorking keeper John McBride rarely troubled, while the Egham goal saw some Dorking threat, notably when a ball was crossed hard into the box only for Toby Fitzgibbon to see his snap shot sail just wide with the Egham goal gaping. The crucial breakthrough came from Egham, a Dorking defender adjudged to have brought down an Egham striker on the edge of the box. McBride has a good record from penalties this season, but Matt Graves guessed the big Dorking keeper’s dive correctly to slot the ball home and put Egham 1-0 up.

Dorking competed again on an equal footing with Egham in the second half, having a lot of possession without really creating any clear chances, but Dorking did have a guilt edged chance to level on 65 minutes when Egham were caught short at the book, Dorking’s Luke Reid surging into the Egham box and crossing for an unmarked Julian Van Gelder on the edge of the 6 yard box, Van Gelder’s scuffed shot beating the Egham keeper but bouncing up and on to the post.

Just minutes later, Dorking made life even harder for themselves, two incidents in quick succession seeing Sam Sawyers booked then his fellow centre back Chandler sent off for a tow footed challenge.

Egham turned the knife almost immediately, Muldowney scoring from a header from a corner. Dorking were now chasing the game with the match realistically settled given Dorking’s lack of numbers, even so it seemed harsh on the Dorking team whose effort had been admirable for Egham to score a third, Muldowney dancing through the Dorking defence and then sending the advancing McBride the wrong way to score a fine individual goal.

Dorking have no game this coming weekend as scheduled opponents Raynes Park Vale have a Vase fixture, but Chicks play away at Sandhurst Town on Tuesday 5 October in the CCL League Cup, next league game is at home to Mole Valley SCR on Saturday 9 October.

Dorking’s U18s play at home to Lingfield in the Southern Youth League, kick off at Meadowbank is 7-45pm and admission is free, the bar is open !

Team:- John Mcbride Dave Suchy Joe Chandler Sam Sawyers Dan Evans Dave Mcann Luke Reid Tyrone Oliver © Toby Fitzgibbon Dean Cox Julian van Gelder.

Substitutes:- Martin Waldren James Campbell Gavin Jeeves Harry Maneh.

Watched Badshot v Camberley, entertaining for the neutral some terrible defences on show. Badshot will probably feel they did enough to win game on second half showing but will regret losing matt griffiths, looked a superb player and scored hat trick. Talking to badshot guys they gad a few out, had westall at centre back and Blake at left back so he was probably right. Badshot hit post twice second half, both kept 11 on pitch and Camberley very dangerous from set plays.

Both will be up there at end of season but look a lot weaker than last season. Anyone else think the standard of the top teams has dropped this year? Everyone in league to me seems on the same sort of level bar a few of the bottom sides. Can see the title going tobthe wire which will be great.

Both times I've been to Egham there have been quite nasty elbowing incidents involving Egham players. Their fans couldn't see the wood for the trees and were booing the opposition for diving. One of them had blood pouring from a cut above his eye.

When an Egham player blatantly dived to get the oppo sent off, it was'all part of the game' according to the Egham fans. Go figure.

What is happening on 23.10.10? Egham Town v Camberley Town... and as I said before, I never said we were angels. Informative to learn that we are held in such low regard. Egham Town, the Millwall of CCL Premier!

I don't think you are worse than any other team. Just certainly not better.

YEAH SF I WAS THERE WATCHING AS WELL. HAVE TO AGREE WITH YOUR COMMENTS BUT DID ENJOY THE GAME ALTHO' THE SPARKS DIDN'T REALLY FLY AS ONE EXPECTED ! YES CAMBERELY ARE DANGEROUS FROM SET PLAYS THATS WHY THEY BEAT CHERTSEY AND ITS SEEMS THAT THESE 2 WILL BE THERE OR THEREABOUTS AT THE END OF THIS SEASON BUT CHAMPIONS I'M NOT TOO SURE. THE PROBLEM WITH BADSHOT LEA IS THAT THEY ARE CONSTANTLY CHANGING THEIR TEAM AND ALWAYS TRY TO GET BETTER PLAYERS WHICH IS FINE, BUT IN MY OPINION THIS WILL EVENTUALLY CAUSE THEM INSTABILITY WITH THE CONSTANT CHANGE OF PLAYERS SO WILL BE THEIR DOWNFALL.

LOOKING AT THE PLAYERS ON VIEW TELLS ME THAT BOTH CLUBS MUST HAVE A GOOD WAGE BUDGET, BUT HOW MUCH IS GOOD ?

BOTH TEAMS ARE DECENT IN QUITE A GOOD GAME INFACT, BUT THERE IS SOMETHING MISSING FROM YESTERDAYS GAME THAT TELLS ME THAT BOTH ARE NOT AS STRONG AS LAST SEASON. I HAVEN'T SEEN ALL THE CLUBS AS YET, BUT SEEN MOST OF THE TOP 10 AND HAVE TO ADMIT THAT THIS SEASON COULD WELL BE TIGHT AND AS SF SAYS HOPEFULLY WILL GO TO THE WIRE TO MAKE THE CCL ANOTHER ENTERTAINING SEASON.

THE LEAGUE IS ALREADY STARTING TO TAKE SHAPE !

Certain posts/posters on here need to take a reality check.

One minute if you swear at a ref or your supporters requests yellow cards you are slated for it !

However get punched in the side of the head, go of with concusion and you are a cheat and because your Egham and your not perfect its ok ?

Quite dissapointed about some of the comments regarding Matt Graves and Egham F.C.

The match in general was played in a good spirit except for two incidents

1. Altough Matt Graves was not hit with a huge haymaker, he was jabbed in the temple by the Dorking defender, which resulted in concusion and he left the field of play. (clearly visible on the video)

To suggest this was play acting is ridiculous. Not one comment made about the Dorking defender but plenty about about Matt Graves !

This should have been a straight red !

2.The tackle the Dorking defender made was "a leg breaker" and resulted in the right decision. (ironically i didn't think it was that bad on the day but after seeing the video it was a shocker !)

Again nothing mentioned but comments like "pot and kettle" are completely irrelevant ! (Kroons you should know better)

Officials: The refreee was the best i have ever seen in the CCL, controlled the game without being the star of the show, spoke to players in the right way and let the game flow were possible.

The two assistants were also very good.

In regards to the first incident he actually took time to speak to me and my assistant about why he had only given a yellow. Based on what he said he could give nothing else but the fact the he spoke to me

made a huge difference in my reaction. The linesman said it was a yellow card offence based on the view he had. Again i have no problem with this but after seeing the video it was a straight red.

Its a shame the chat is about this but based on some of the comments i have seen over the weekend i felt a reply was needed.

In regards to the game depsite dominating possesion for most of the first half we lacked a bit of quality in the final third but eventually broke the deadlock with a penalty.

The overall out come could have been very different as Dorking missed two great chances at 0-0 and 1-0.

Following the sending of we upped our game and Charlie Muldowney completed the win with two well taken goals.

The overall performance was solid and we are slowly improving our performances.

Will need to be at our best tomorrow night at Badshot Lea.

Good to meet Big JR in the bar after !

Steve fair comment but I was more trying to get Tempie to understand how his post read and TBH his subsequent respones have only backed up the thought that his attitude was one of holier than thou really.

It was not meant to be a slur on Egham as a club and if it read like that then I apologise.

Westfield 6 - Cobham 1

I would say that Cobham started the much stronger without creating any clear cut chances. We then scored against the run of play, and Jurgs chucked one in (sorry mate). This seemed to rock Cobham and we then got a penalty which some players protested about but it certainly sounded like a penalty.

Second half we scored almost immediately, and Cobham then hit the bar. We dominated for 25-30 mins which resulted in 2 more goals, and the Cobham skipper getting sent off for being an idiot. Cobham scored late on after a wee error at the back.

The scoreline perhaps flattered us a little but then with all the Cobham pressure at the start they created little. Nice to get some goals, and have 6 different scorers!

Pretty much spot on there Henry! Was at fault for the second although we let the cross come in far to easily. Sorry but the pen was a shocking decision by the ref (who I thought was generally poor for both teams throughout the game). You only had to see where the ball went (sideways and back away from the goal, whilst the player was running towards it) to see if was a perfectly timed goal saving tackle - as last man surely our defender should have been yellow, if not red carded!!!!

We actually hit the bar first (big turning point IMO), then you almost immediately went up the other end and scored. After that we totally lost it as individuals and a team, which resulted in a sending off and some abysmal defending.

Fully deserved win for you, although after the first 30 I don't think anyone would have predicted that scoreline!

Ref was poor, we've had him already this season and he was rubbish then too. As I say it sounded bad and since the linesman was not prepared to help the ref I can see why he gave it as he was miles behind play. If, as you say, the ball went back and sideways it's a simple one for the lino to help with. I think the fact he didn't send him off shows uncertain he was.

Fair enough if it was that way round, it seemed like we scored immediately. I agree, half hour in no way people would have thought it would be like that. You made a couple of decent stops or it could have been a lot worse!

When asked why the ref didn't senf off the Cobham player he said he didn't feel like it. Lino also said to our bench it wasn't a pen but can't overule the ref. Surely even after the ref has made the decision the lino can call him over because at the end of the day its about getting the final decision right. But don't let that take away from us getting smashed. Westfield were excellent at times and Daryn Hennessy was very good. Still don't know why we (Woking) released him when he was doing well and was better than what we had and don't know why he went to Westfield.
