this made me laugh on the same thread from good old clocksider

These rivalries come and go over the years.

During the amateur days it was probably Ilford and when we turned pro in 1959 Chelmsford, apparently gave us a lot of help and advice, but later became THE ENEMY with huge derby crowds and the hooliganism which became very fashionable in the sixties and seventies.

Since the reformation it was mainly Ford, Dagenham and Canvey until the sudden arrival of a bit of money was followed by all the noveau "Hornchurch 'til I die" gloryhunters, who had managed to live a large part of their adult lives without seeing the need to visit Bridge Avenue. There has actually only been one season when we have played them competitively since then, so all the rivalry has developed off the field due to their unpleasant habits of sticking their noses in other clubs' business and attempting to ruin their internet forums. All this while desperately trying to cover up the behind the scenes crap going on over Hornchurch Stadium and as Alan rightly says, at one stage doing their best to put us out of business.

What is completely laughable about this remark is that even before we went bust 6 years ago now,we never had any interaction with romford fans apart from a few jealous souls who came on our forum to whinge every now and then (not you fletch),but this is obviously forgotten and its seems many of their fans are now bitter because when we went down to the ESL we were only on a par with them for one season, that must of really hurt them.

And as for the old crap about gloryhunters, both clubs have reformed from their original status and we average around 300 and play in the borough and romturd average around 100 and play in thurrock. So who is gloryhunting now and isn't it careless to lose all those fans from 40 odd years ago???

What I enjoy is that we don't even post on their forum and we still get to them. Sign of true genius
