Eric is our current reserve team manager and i'm quite sure he wouldnt be happy that we now know that he has shared confidential information with someone else and that quietobserver has now made it public.

I could understand if Eric had left the post, but he hasnt!

 

Koo has told me many things that i know shouldnt be repeated on a public forum. Which is why i love this forum because at least you have an opportunity to consider weather it is right for me to write my comments before i actually post them.

 

Quietobserver shouldnt out someone who has confided in him! If i am unsure of something i wish to write that someone has told me, i would 1st contact them to ask if they dont mind me repeating what i had been told.

JJ I think you should re read the thread cos at no time has QO mentioned anybody in particular. The part you refer to is where VP mentioned the Reserve manager at Cove. So he did exactly what you suggest and has weighed up whether he should post it or not.

Just a few points from my side of the fence. The mass exodus that seems to have caused most of this fuss happens, has happened before and will happen again. After my 1st full year as manager at Camberley I had calls in the summer from Fossie, McGarry, Hoppitt, Milletti, Ker, Jeffers and While all saying hey had been contacted by Koo about going to Cove, some decided to move on, some decided to stay. Not a problem Koo waited till the summer and did it in the right way, same as Camberley seem to have done this summer. I also know that those that deceide to stay were contacted regularly during the season to see if they would be interested in now moving across, again not a problem as they were not interested.

 

Regarding the players coming back, all bar Jeffers, not just Cove players but others that had moved elsewhere had at one stage in the past 3 seasons asked to come back to Camberley. As manager I didnt think they were right for the team at that stage so it was taken no further.

Regarding the coaching, JJ you as well as I know that footballers are a fickle bunch. Some like a certain kind of training others will hate that and like something different. I am sure players that have told me they want to come over as not enjoying the training were no doubt the same players that were not in the side or would then be on the phone to their next club saying they were not enjoying the training at Camberley. Learn to take things with a pinch of salt, players are a devious bunch. If you took the time to speak to the current coaches you would find out what qualifications they have, both are highly qualified. Similarly with the past coaches. Will have to agree to disagree about views on players.

 

 

Yes Camberley have ambition and we were disappointed not get promoted after coming close on a few occasions but I know in the 4 years I was at the club that money wasnt the reason we came close. Speaking with Koo and other managers, Epsom etc our budget was the same as Coves, Epsom etc, so please dont play the pauper with Cove do well to compete. These sides dont have a massive budget but a competitive one. I have no knowledge of what it is this season but knowing the chairman and Darren they would not offer £100 to a keeper, if anyone took the time to speak to either of those they would find out why certain people were attracted to the club. Yes we signed some good players, Sillsy, Ronnie Green etc but I can promise you that they didnt sign for money, they thought they could win something with what we were doing there. Like I have siad before we lost a player as he was offered an extra £5 by another club. We failed in approaches for players at Ash, Cove, Badshot Lea and Godalming because we couldnt give them what they were already getting at these clubs. Again this happens so you just get on with it.

 

Sorry for the long winded response just felt now was the time for a bit of truth to hopefully help the situation.

You're probably right but Fozzy, nor Vp, nor QO are anything to do with Cove. Our reserve team manager is still a huge part of Cove so probably the wrong time to release what he has confidentially said. Not really a problem if Eric was no longer our reserve manager!

i'm not saying that Fozzy was officially offered £100 cos i'm quite sure Darren wouldnt be so stupid to offer a ccl keeper that sort of money. Fozzy was in my opinion fishing for more money which is why Koo told him he'd be better off earning his money with Camberley.

 

I'm actually not bothered that the players moved on, or the reasons they moved on, or the way in which they moved on. I may have only been playing senior football for 12 years but know all the devious stuff that goes on, the illegal approaches, the tapping up through friends of friends of distant relatives, the text msgs. Players from opposing teams talk to each other all the time about joining them and it will go on forever.

 

My comment about Cove doing well is more aimed at Cove being a tiny club in the area compared to Fleet, Camberley, Frimley, Sandhurst, Aldershot, Farnborough. Sponsorship is hard to come by for any team but is even harder for the smaller teams for obvious reasons. Dont forget that hardly any players got paid in the last 5 months of last season so we done well to achieve a league cup win.

As for fossie, from what i've been told he was always going to leave Cove along with the other two, an when asked about money told his new club all he wanted was equal to what Cove were paying, no more , no less. So again a classic case of wrong misinformed information it would seem JJ, maybe you should do some homework first. Not all players are devious as there made out, ok some are, but so are the managers.. Now lets all talk about more important issues,this is getting petty and schoolgirl like now.

You seem to know alot of information on what's happing at Cove, I mean I'm there myself, and I thought Dobbo left to go back to Raynes, and wasn't shafted out of the club.

As Teffers has said, there's a lot of 'what i was told' and 'i heard this and this' going on. Unless the people who say these things come on here and back it up, then its just all hearsay!

 

I know nothing of how Duff was approached so cant comment. Dobbo senior was asked nicely to take a step back from the coaching part of the team as the management felt there were too many opinions and voices in the changing room. There was definitely no shafting going on! He left the club and took up a position at RPV of his own accord!

 

I didnt say Fozzy WAS offered £100. I said that he told Koo what he was offered by Camberley. But as Teffers said, its only what i hear from Koo. I do speak to my players and players from other clubs regularly and choose what i believe and dont believe!
