Smudge

Recommended Posts

Medic,it is funny you should put that,I did apply for Corporate Hospitality Membership, but there were 2 drawbacks,Firstly you have to have a Knaphill Member second your application to join, fat chance that happening.Secondly they were massively over subscribed, they are The Arsenal of the C.C.L. NO DIG INTENDED,a waiting list of 4.So renewed my Gold Membership for a further year, same price £5.Hope that clears that up for you.

so why did they leave Camberley??

not 1st choice? not enjoying the coaching? not improving as players?

and then why did Camberley want them back??

cos they had improved, become better players, more experienced, jeffers and fozzy's profile raised cos of the cup wins.

Fact is that they came to Cove cos of what Koo can offer as a manager and returned to Camberley much improved!

They went back to Camberley cos the pitch is better than Cove's, Camberley can go up without huge ground improvements, and Camberley have the wages to entice these players back!

Of course they'd be better, they were getting gametime at cove. Would it have anything to do with Koo's 'coaching/training...well from the reasons ive heard of players leaving id say no! I heard the 'contracted' players at cove offered to waive their contract money, yet the club declined and still payed them ASWELL as paying the rest of the squad! We say about players moving for money etc, i don't think this is the case in this situation. More to the fact of wanting better tactical coaching and training from a club that has ambition.

So Fozzie leaving had nothing to do with the way Koo told him he had signed a 'better' goalie for this season then? Koo basically told him he wasn't needed there anymore.

At least that what I was told by Cove's reserve team manager.

Probably best to stay quiet!

Def not the case with the contracted players. One player in particular had several illegal approaches by the same club but we didnt want to lose him at that stage in the season so your point about continuing to pay him may be true. I would very much doubt the same could be said about the other 2.

And as for paying the rest of the squad - you have to got to be kidding. Cove were dealt several cruel blows last season that i wont go in to but it resulted in the players hardly getting paid at all from December onwards. Just proves how well the team did by sticking together and winning the premier cup!

Better tactical coaching?? I wonder if the current Camberley manager/coach has any coaching qualifications to his name?

Jeffers left Camberley and came to Cove. Under Koo's coaching he improved massively and scored 20+ goals both seasons. He was scouted many a time and had a chance to prove himself worthy of Ryman Premier standard. As captain in July of 2008 i saw the very skinny, scrawny, selfish, very unpolished gem that was Alex Jeffers. In April of 2010 i saw the finished article scoring a goal that sealed his 2nd senior medal while at Cove. It wasnt just game time that got him to where he is.

Fozzy was poor when he came to Cove and Koo many times brought in new keepers to keep him on his toes. Lots of perseverance from Koo, our GK coach and Fozzy changed him in to a top keeper. He is now in my opinion probably the best keeper in the league.

The players in question didnt like Koo's method of training cos he worked them hard every single session and demanded the best at training and in matches. Fozzy was slack at training and he knows it and would probably admit it. If he trained properly he would be playing higher up im convinced. One of the ex Cove players only ever once got past level 11 on the bleep test and we did it once every 2 weeks for about 3 months. Not cos of fitness but cos of attitude.

The only thing i can agree with you is that Camberley do have ambition and do see a way out of the CCL.

Cove have ambition but several factors stop us from achieving them. Remember that Cove is a small sub town of Farnborough. We have about 4 pubs and 2 fish and chip shops. Camberley is a large town with a huge cinema, big shopping centre, a train station, and masses of potential. Camberley Town fc are punching below their weight and have for many years. With their decent budget and huge plans i hope they dont fail yet again to get promoted!

Cove do well to compete and have won 2 trophies in 2 seasons, which is more than my beloved Liverpool !

Wrong again......

Fozzy rang Koo to tell him that Camberley had offered him £100 per week. Koo told him that he would be a fool to turn it down and said he couldnt even offer him half of that. So he told him that he'd better sign for Camberley. It was only after he had signed for Camberley did he say that we'd signed a better keeper. It was a bit of text banter cos we all know Fozzy is easy to catch on the end of a hook. The fact is we have 2 keepers that are working harder than Fozzy ever worked and they are getting better all the time. They should be ready in a season or 2 so we'll keep you posted.

And its not nice to out someone that has told you something in secret VP. I'm sure Eric wont appreciate it.

Fecking hell. There is some real munching going on here from both sides. I think people should settle down a little and reflect on what they are posting and that goes for everyone.

I could mention all sorts on hear that "I have been told" but probably hardly any of it is true. I was disappointed when Fossie and Jeffers left Camberley more so when they signed for a club in the same league. I am sure Cove feel the same now with them and Blountie. I also felt the same when Tom and Jason joined Cove.

At the moment Camberley are a bigger club than Cove but cast your mind back a few years and Cove were bigger than Camberley with the likes of Chick and Steve Beeks running them, with rumoured big budgets. I am sure in time it will happen again as these things go in cycles.

Lets leave it at that shall we because it is all getting very boring with claim and counter claim.

I get my information from being the person that speaks to Koo on a daily basis and speaking to the players as captain of Cove fc.

In what capacity are you involved in football and where do you get all your information from??

Until you can reveal this, i think your info has to be taken with a pinch of salt.

Maybe quiet observer should either stay quiet or stop hiding behind an alias.

For example:

Krooner is the bald, fat referee from Camberley.

VPCTFC is the man at Camberley that wont make a contribution to this site.

Guvnor is the ex Bedfont player that used to kick lumps out of me.

Brunty is the very talented footballer that is playing beneath himself at Knaphill

Teflon was the secretary of Bookham and is now just a bald person.

Dunc's is the person at Cove who kicks players arses if they step out of line (just ask Fozzy)

AU Postie is my old mate and secretary from Ash United

Smudge is some old geezer that has some very good points on football matters and the reason this site is as lively and debated as it is.

Who are you??
