Even though we lost i thought it was an entertaining game . I thought we started the brighter and looked to have them on the back foot in the early stages . We used our wingers for the first 10 minutes but then we got totally done by an extremely well organised side . Dont get me wrong i fully believe Lowestoft were beatable but you gotta say they took their chances really well and were just too clinical for us . Not often you wanna give the away team credit , but their movement off the ball was superb, and the way they suckered us into playing narrow just played into their hands . I think though we could of and should of made the pitch bigger because when Tom Tom ran at the right back he had him all the way , but as the game wore on he seemed to drift further infield as did Junior.

 

Thought Chatting put in a solid performance when he came on but for once i think our midfield went missing at times which allowed them added comfort , and we seemed to resort to pumping the ball 50 yards in the air which made it so much easier for them to defend .

 

However , we did put some really tempting balls into the box which on another day could / would have resulted in something so that was really pleasing .

 

As for some of their tactics of slowing the game down at times , gotta say they did it well , and their keeper and his defence organised to a man ,

 

Its always "ifs and buts" and if we had scored after the ball came down off the underside of their bar then at 2-2 right on half time things may have been different but they went stright up th other end in 3 passes and scored .

 

Craig will no doubt not be happy with the result and after Concordes 3-0 win last night it sure is gonna set it up for the cup now !

 

To sum up , good effort from the lads but were beaten by a good side . Yes the ref was awkward at times , but absolutely no wining excuses . We just got beat fair.

Enjoyed last night. Although my first visit last night for this season, I though the Blues are a much better team then last year. Unfortunately, Lowestoft looked a good outfit, and finished really well. If the two that hit the bar had gone in, it would have been a different story!!

Good to see you too LF. It's far to early to be down hearted and there is a lot of the season to play for. I think we're shaping up to be a good side and I think we'll be in touch with the top five come the business end of this season in March and April. I agree that Lowestoft were a good side and showed us how to be clinical in front of goal.....three chances, three goals, whereas we probably had double that and only one to show for our efforts. As has been said, if the woodwork hadn't got in the way, it probably would've been a different story. It will come.

Must admit that I felt a bit guilty when the final whistle went. I'd thoroughly enjoyed a match that saw us get well beaten! But we played some exciting attacking football at times and, but for lady luck not smiling on us on one or two occasions, the score-line could have been a lot closer.

 

Lowestoft looked a very proffesional outfit; even their time-wasting tactics were a cut above what you usually see! They worked very hard for each other as a team, particularly when it was necessary to get back in numbers. Maybe we'de have seen a different Lowestoft if we'd converted one or two of our numerous chances.
