I second that seemgee. Well done everyone. That is a great three points and a nice confidence booster before our FA Cup match at the weekend. Keep it up lads !

Took 75 minutes to get to the ground from Southbury Leisure Centre and missed the start of the game, even though it was delayed.

 

Witnessed a good performance by The Town and managed to see the second goal go in before being called away to assist daughter number 2 with a flat battery!

 

Oh well, 60 minutes at Brimmo was better than watching another 'minor' North London derby on the TV.

Outstanding performance tonight, probably as well as we've played so far this season. Delighted with the win and much the better side - some of the football we played was first rate.

 

Once again an all round team effort, although I think special mentions should be given to Deniz, Rudi and Bryan tonight and thinking about it Byfield also. Another clean sheet is testiment to the back four and Rob, enough said about their quality.

 

Well done Steve and the boys, looking forward to Sunday already!!

Looking through the Grays website to try to identify players in my photos, I see they have a midfielder by the name of John Docker. Any relation I wonder? The father of the old EFC's John Docker was also John, if I remember correctly.

Match report and video highlights now on the THE COLD END Didn't get the two challenges Marvin made to be sent off unfortunetly. did get fab's goal and penalty that was given.... Jury still out I think on that decision.

If anyone gets a chance have a read of the Grays Forum and the club website with regards to last night's

game. The word dellusional comes to mind. In particular, Kenny Brown's blog, he must have been watching a different game :-)

 

Apparently, Grays problem is that a lot of their players need to learn how to play at this level because they are of a higher standard (see latter part of match report)?? LOL

 

Kenny Brown reckons the best football in the game was played by them during the first part of the second half?? and that when we were 'gifted' our second goal it was undeserved??!! LOL again

 

I get the general feeling that they have dellusions of grandeur being a side who have dropped down to this level, very akin to some Towners who thought we should walk through the leagues because we were ex-Enfield FC fans (RIP). Lots of excuses being made by those associated with GA, rather than accepting that we outplayed them last night and that there are teams in this league that are as good, if not better than them on their day.

 

Only reason I mention these things is because I thought the guys played so very well last night and it would be nice if the oppo could be a little bit gracious in defeat :-)
