League Cup - how is it run these days?

I know there are 6 min-leagues.

But how do teams progress to the knock-out stages?

Is it the top 4 on points from the league stages or the winners plus 2 others? As it would require 4 or 8 to go through.

Just a tad confused as to how it works.

Thanks.

6 winners and 2 best runners up go through. I posted a question about whether it really works as a format a few weeks ago, but nobody else really seemed to feel that there was a problem. I did look at whether I might go to BGU versus Eton Manor tomorrow, but last two league cup group games I've been to it's been teams playing their second string players and just come across as dead games that nobody's that bothered about winning. So on that basis I'll probably keep my money in my pocket and watch United on the tele.

Yep, It's the top sides in each group who progress to the Quarter Finals along with the two best runners up.

The Quarter Finals are two legs as are the semi finals.
