Harrow Borough 1 - Billericay Town 1

Recommended Posts

The Blues drew 1-1 at Harrow Borough in the league today. Hakeem Araba scored from the penalty spot in the 90th minute on his debut, to equalise Baptiste's 85th minute strike.

Health & safety was paramount with the Harrow club with one Police officer to every five Harrow fan's, The three police men left towards the end of the game.

The local fire service were also in attendance to help make up the numbers but no matter how they tried they were simply more of us than them.

Great BTFC support again.

I think this one goes down as a point gained.

I thought we shaded the first half but Harrow were the better side in the second in what was probably as bad a 45 as I've seen from us for a while (either that or Harrow were just good?). Harrsion showed nous beyond his tender years to win our penalty - I'm sure Harrow will feel hard done by but it's the first bit of luck we've had all season.

Hakeem did well on his debut but we just didn't get enough people near him to be much of a threat going forwards. If we are going to play a three man midfield then one of them has to be able to support the forward players. Hopefully Ced 7 will be back on Tuesday and can fulfil this role. Bit worried about where the goals are going to come from but it still has to be said this was our best effort at Harrow for quite a few years.

MoTM Nick Morgan who kept us in the game.

Come on you Blues!!

Happy to come away with a point, first half we had the better of Harrow, but something happened after the break and I could see the game slipping away, then a defensive error leading to their goal, but we put on some late pressure and won a penalty and the goal, I thought a draw was fair result.

Slightly better side in first half with their keeper making three good saves. Second half was probably our poorest of the season, yet another sloppy goal given away. Lifeline at the end, but I think we've deserved that over the course of the season so far. The main concern is that we are not able to put out a settled side at the moment. The loss of McKenzie, Kouassi injured, Humphrey-Modeste shipped out, Junior Luke missing start of season and now Charge absent. That's a lot of pace/quality missing from the side something which I thought we lacked yesterday. On the plus side Morgan looked good and Araba was a proper handful. 'Ced' 7 back on Tuesday and hopefully a better performance.

For those of us who were not there i would say that is a massive point gained away to a team who notoriously have damaged us at their place a number of times in the past . Is that luck changing still ? ! We dont score goals in the last minute !!! we have only ever been used to conceding them haha ... Bet ya all thought it was all over when they scored eh !!! But with the way the results all went that point is very useful .
